Hi everyone, I've made some major changes on my site! I've decided to start coding the databases in HTML, instead of in TXT or PDF. This should solve the viewing issues some people have had. Unfortunately, with my slow typing this means a few less databases each week as I try to code them for the site. <g> On that note, if anyone has records they would like to see online, I'm willing to convert any TXT or DOC documents to HTML. I can also convert GEDCOMs to HTML if you have them. This week I've added 6 new databases to my site, Awesome Genealogy. The new databases can be found here: http://www.awesomegenealogy.com/newstuff.shtml They include: Emigrants from Baden-Durlach, Germany to Pennsylvania 1749-1755 Zion Reformed Church Burials in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania 1765-1861 Zion Reformed Church Marriages in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania 1765-1861 Old Newspaper Records from the Germantown, Pennsylvania Area in 1756 Old Newspaper Records from the Germantown, Pennsylvania Area in 1757 --These continuing series of extracts from various Newspapers now cover from 1747-1751, 1756-1757 and from 1767-1768. Details in these vary, with one-line descriptions of possible ancestors to entire paragraphs detailing family lines and when they immigrated to the United States, most often from Germany. Naturalizations of Jews in Pennsylvania from 1749-1755 I've also made various updates to the following pages: http://www.awesomegenealogy.com/state_pennsylvania.shtml and http://www.awesomegenealogy.com/german.shtml Sincerely, Roger Awesome Genealogy http://www.awesomegenealogy.com --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Hi everyone, I've been working on a new database for NaturalizationRecords.com. With the help of Pam Gera's volunteer efforts, I am uploading an index to Passport Applications for the entire USA from 1834-1843 It's a huge database, there are over 600 names online now - and we are only finished Surnames A and B! These passports were granted to citizens of the United States going to foreign countries. Each applicant had to present evidence that they were a citizen of the USA and a description of his person, so they are a terrific resource for narrowing an immigration year and putting some meat on those ancestral bones. For example, Newton Adams and wife are on the index to "A" surnames. The full record shows: Newton Adams and his wife Sarah C. Adams were issued Passport # 3554 on 22 Nov. 1834 The passport was requested by N. Adams, Canandaigua [NY] and sent to him at Boston. Newton was 30 years old, 6 feet tall, with a high forehead, gray eyes, brown hair and a light complexion Once you find your name of interest on the alphabetical index that Pam and I are creating, you can order the film for the full record. I've included examples of what you will find on the complete passport application plus complete details on what film to order and where. Online now is the index to the Register of Passports from 14 November 1834 to 1843 Start at http://naturalizationrecords.com/usa/passports.shtml or go directly to Surnames A at http://naturalizationrecords.com/usa/passports1834_a.shtml Please feel free to pass this message on to other lists or researchers you think would be interested. As always, these records are FREE to use, there is never a fee to view any of the online databases (over 750 now!!) at Olive Tree Genealogy or any of OTG's sister sites. Have fun and I hope you find an ancestor! I am searching for information on one J.P. Gates. He was born in PA the year of 1781. It has been theorized that this J.P. Gates is the son of Jost/Yost Goetz, a Prussian immigrant who came to the area in the late 1700's. I am not yet convinced that this gentleman is the father of the J.P. I seek. I have yet to find the complete name for J.P. so that of course hinders my search. J.P. does appear to have removed PA to somewhere in NC. Which again makes him appear to be connected to Jost/Yost who traveled a similar route. J.P. married a NC woman by the name of Elizabeth. I have not yet found proof of her surname or a marriage record in NC. Possibly Bullon or Bullion. Since I lack conclusive proof or source linking Jost/Yost to J.P. I feel compelled to continue my search. I would appreciate hearing from those who might have had an ancestor with a name similar to my possible 5th great grandfather. Thanking you in advance for any information. Gena Gates Lally

Hello all! I am hoping that somebody can help me from Wayne Co. My Great Grandma was Marilla Adeline Bartleson and she was born in Wayne Co. 6/29/1870 to Charles H. Bartleson and Adeline (Kimble) Bartleson. If anyone has any information on this family, I would greatly appreciate it, ie who Charles Bartleson's parents were, and where they came from and Adeline Kimble, her parents, and where they came from. The other one is a Dorcas Andrews who married Ephraim Bidwell, born 1761 in Glastonbury, CT. Her brother was listed as John Andrews, a Revolutionary War soldier that was present at the execution of Major Andre. I have been told that the Andrews came from Pike County in Pa, but have no documentation to this end! Any help anyone can give to me, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, and have a nice day! Beth Rupert
