    3. Dear Page Listers: Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the SECOND book by Elijah Ransom Page? He wrote one in 1904 showing his genealogy linked to the PAIGE family of Bedford Flag fame, then perhaps realizing that this was not the right family, wrote another one in 1906 that I think shows his connection back to the John Page + Phebe Paine line now known as DNA Family Line 'E'. I have a few pages of that book from a cousin but not all. I am somehow missing the vital links. The confusion exists about which John Page that line goes back to. This 1906 book was reported to be in the Buffalo Public Library at one time. Amazon shows that they have it - except that somebody else has it and would be willing to part with it for the cost and a finders fee to Amazon. They have had my order for about a year though and nobody has come forth with the book that is apparently available. It now sounds like maybe is might be available for higher than the $20 suggested before. But nobody seems to come out and say 'It is available for $30 or maybe $40 or whatever' and I am pretty tired of playing games. I would be glad to pay Xeroxing costs if someone could send me that complete book or do the actual job for me. It possibly isn't a very big book. Higginsons Books of Salem Mass. who normally has a lot of books I want does NOT have it either. There are several relatives from that line who watch this newsgroup and I am hoping one of you will have it. I will be writing you soon. I am wondering if maybe someone has discovered some big mix-up or error in this second book too that seems to invalidate it somehow. This could be the reason for the book disappearing from the face of the earth but I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone with a few more details on this. So many of the genealogy authors of 100 years ago did the best they could and it was exceptional for the time. A lot of families they were researching were listed incorrectly by the great experts of the time as being related to someone else when they really weren't. Research as we know it today was impossible. We will slowly figure out the rest of the story. Best wishes to all, Ruthanne Page

    3. This may already have been suggested but . . . is it possible to do an "inter Library loan" on the book that you seek? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ruthanne Page" <mrpage55@terragon.com> To: "Page Digest" <page@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, June 23, 2009 2:24 PM Subject: [PAGE] Elijah Ransom Page wrote 2 books > Dear Page Listers: > Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the SECOND book by Elijah > Ransom Page? > He wrote one in 1904 showing his genealogy linked to the PAIGE family of > Bedford Flag fame, then perhaps realizing that this was not the right > family, wrote another one in 1906 that I think shows his connection back > to the John Page + Phebe Paine line now known as DNA Family Line 'E'.
