Based upon the Y-DNA test results of several male PAGE/PAIGEs, we have definitely established the Y-DNA Markers of the mutual line of Page/Paiges from Bedford, New England and those from Goochland Co., VA , who flourished about a century later. Both branches of Page/Paiges match and prove they share a common male PAGE/Paige ancestor who lived in England, probably in Co. Devon. I doubt that the Goochland Pages, who show-up in VA about a century later than those in Bedford, MA, are descended from the same New England Paige branch of the family. This means that both branches of the same family, whose Y-DNA show they share a common male Page ancestor and are from the same Page family tree back in England, probably have origins in co. Devon in the 1500s. George W. Page PAGE Y-DNA Project Administrator www.PageY-DNA.Org
but george i,ve read and heard that the goochland county virginia page family may have origins in belfast northern ireland according to some researchers on rootsweb.com,,,i,ve quizzed them as to how they know this and where they got their information from and proof of ship records and they never respond to my questions on rootsweb.com i,ve been to the immigrant ships transcriptions guild on the web and cannot find ship records even going back to the 1600,s for exolheath or his family.linda manning seems to think exolheath page side of the family descends from john page of orange county, virginia, she is so convinced of this.what is your take on linda manning,s research? i think she may be correct on some things and wrong or incorrect on other things.would like some input. thankyou very much carla jean page possible descendant of exolheath page oh joseph page&lucy coursey cannot be the parents of edward d.page they married way to late, edward was born 1776 they married 1796,so therefore i,ve ruled them out. ________________________________ From: George W. Woot! That's great, George--those of us banging our heads on the wall over Exolheath thank you--and the Bedford Paiges! Isn't DNA a wonderful tool? Of course, it leaves many gaps and can sometimes frustrate (I now have six Mason brick walls instead of the one I started with), but sometimes it gives hope when we've all failed to find anything else. Thanks again. Karen Dale ----- Original Message ----- From: George W.
