Fellow listers: I am sorry to prolong this discussion but today I received this item from Carol Young. I thought I would share it with you all because I believe it is the first time that I have ever received anything from her and I don't believe that she has ever posted anything to the list in the 18 months that I have been on it. I have removed her email address because I don't want anybody to send her emails criticising her position. But given that George has contributed 71 items in the past 18 months I think I know whose contribution to the list I value the more highly. By the way I have been in private correspondence with the originator of this conversation thread and explained the position to her. I don't suppose she has accepted the explanation but I think she understands how the correspondence came to be on the list. I, too, am adamant that George responded in quite poor taste. I, too, belong to other genealogical mailing lists, have for a couple of years, and have NEVER come across evenly remotely similar language.
