In the Great State of TEXAS, this coming Friday, January 19th, is officially a State Holiday. All State employees will be off for the Holiday. This Friday, we will be proudly showing our true colors in Texas, as it is Confederate Day. My Stars & Bars will be waving in honor of all my GRIGG,SMALLWOOD,ZELLNER,POLAND, KIRKHAM,HAYGOOD,&ALLISON ancestors who fought & shed their blood for what they believed in. And a prayer will be said for those of my ancestors who perished in the War of Northern Aggression . My gr-gr-grandfather,John Wesley Grigg, spent the final days of the war in a prison called LookOut Point in Maryland. Mary Magnuson Lamar Co.TX

That truly tells us we live in a great country where we have the freedom to live our convictions. That is why our ancestors came here in the first place. They didn't have the right to defend their convictions. Perish the thought it would be any other way in this wonderful country of ours.
