As announced previously, Oxford Ancestors now have a Y chromosome testing system that we previously discussed on this website! They have apparently abandoned the "Male Match" scheme for something that looks even better. The prices seem reasonable, and we have the following named male PAGEs who have agreed to participate for whom I have postal mail addresses. If I have overlooked anyone, please contact me ASAP, and send me your postal address. 1. George W. Page, of the George Page of Branford, CT (c. 1662); 2. Cecil Wray Page, of the John Page of Williamson,Virginia (c. 1650); 3. & 4. John W. Page and Bob Page who trace their ancestry to Axelheath Page of VA; 5. James F. Robert Page of Kingwood, TX If you are a male with the last name of Page acquired by birth (NOT adoption) you may want to participate in the DNA test to help us determine and sort out the various Page lines of descent. The details of the test are explained on the Oxford Ancestors website: http://www.oxfordancestors.com/ Oxford Ancestors has been contacted to verify if they will honor their reduced fee for over ten participants; but they have not responded. Step 1. IF and WHEN they do so, I'll submit the addresses of the people listed above plus additional names and addresses that I receive before transmitting the list. Step 2. You will receive in the mail a DNA sampling kit. This contains the small brush used to collect cells from your inner cheek easily and painlessly. Step 3. Return the DNA brush with your payment cheque. It will not be banked until your results have been mailed back to you. Expect delivery within 28 days of our receipt of your sample. Step 4. Oxford Ancestors states they will not use your DNA for any other purpose than the tests you have requested. Your results will be disclosed only to you, and your DNA will be destroyed after the results have been posted back to you. Step 5. We will of course want to share the DNA results (marker numbers) with each other to help us sort out the various Page family lines both in America and abroad. Please contact me ASAP if you are a Male with the birth name of Page and are interested so that we can order together at a reduced cost. I will try and get a commitment from Oxford Ancestors to honor the same price ($150) for additional PAGE surnamed individuals in the future, but first they have to communicate more than just an acknowledgement E-mail.
