    3. Hi, Archelaus Page descendants.  Anyone out there with land records from NY or PA for Archelaus Page or Christian Holmes his father-in-law?  This would be 1800-1835 or so.  Holmes was on the 1810 & 1820 census in Oswegatchie twp, and in 1830, Elk Creek Twp, Erie Co, PA. I remember reading/hearing somewhere along the line that Christian Holmes was a sea captain.  Can anyone tell me where that info is stated?  I can't find it in my notes.  While reading a history of Ogdensburg (very interesting history) I found that there was a sea captain (in 1817 on the St Lawrence and Great Lakes) of a schooner, captains name was C. Holmes.  He was master of a brand new schooner called Experiment, and of one called Oswegatchie.  I'm trying to make a connection to our C(hristian) Holmes.  Maybe this was him?   Michelle Detwiler

    3. Michelle, My Page family is different form yours, but there is an interesting coincidence in that I have families that were in Elk Creek Twp Pa in about that time.  My ancestor Joshua Page (b. NH) lived in Herkimer Co, NY, when young and married Sarah Wittum who was born in Elk Creek Twp.  There is a town in that Twp formerly known as Page Corners and had a factory that manufactured Oars.  This was in the 1810-1830 timeframe.  I don't know how Joshua and Sarah met, whether he ever lived in Elk Creek, or was related to the Page factory owners.  By1816 they had moved to Indiana.   Small world. --- On Tue, 4/19/11, MDetwiler <mdetwilr@yahoo.com> wrote: From: MDetwiler <mdetwilr@yahoo.com> Subject: [PAGE] Archelaus fam history To: "PAGE@rootsweb.com" <PAGE@rootsweb.com> Date: Tuesday, April 19, 2011, 8:38 AM Hi, Archelaus Page descendants.
