    1. [PAGE] Henry Page (c.1788-1851)

    3. For a long time a 'brick wall' in my research has been my ancesstor HENRY PAGE, who died in Hillingdon in 1851. The 1851 census gave his birthplace as Charlwood, Surrey - though I find no trace of him in the records there. Henry Page's wife was Jane Godden and the couple had ten children between 1810 and 1831, all born in London. In 1841 and again in 1844 he lived at 20 Bury St off Piccadilly His occupation (census; baptismal register entries) is always 'independent' or 'annuitant', though for a while (in the 180s) he seems to have been a partner in a snuff and cigar manufactory in Bread St, Cheapside; in the mid 1830s he may have had a butchery business at 44 Great Marylebone Street (or the shop may have belonged to his son, Henry William) He had three brothers - THOMAS, RICHARD, CHARLES ROBERT. I have only succeeded in tracing the first, Thomas (1766-1835) who was for a time a partner in Grays Inn Coffee House and Tavern. Thomas and Richard were childless but Charles Robert married and had issue. The last of the brothers to die (either Charles Robert or Richard) may have died just before 1861. By late 1861 all the brothers had died. If these names have cropped up in any list member's researches, I would be most interested in exchanging information. If any list member has any suggestions to make that might lead to progress in this search I would be grateful to receive them Ian (in Cornwall UK) _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail: Powerful Free email with security by Microsoft. http://clk.atdmt.com/GBL/go/196390710/direct/01/
