Hi, all. I have noticed there have not been many direct to the list postings, but there have been many gatewayed (forwarded) postings from the Page Message Board. To view these you need to click on the link given below the message if the body of the message is not actually on the list. Or join the Page Board by going to rootsweb.com, scroll down on left to find a message board and sign up. You can then search the board archives via that search engine to locate your particular family postings. Good luck, Aileen in WA **************Gas prices getting you down? She was born after the 1880 census as she does not appear on that census, but must have been married before 1900 as she does not appear on that census either. Solomon Newton and Mary appear on the 1900 census but their daughter Lettie is not listed with the family. Thus, the reason I am looking for a birth date.
linda, jerry snell and his son britt snell seem to think that james l.page was the son of edward dillard page but i now must disagree with both of them.so i owe you an apology.your info on rootsweb.com is correct.james henry page was the son of edward dillard page not james l.page.there was a john w.page that was the son of edward dillard page that married mildred ware,of whom i,m related to through my ggggggrandmother hannah jopling.so for now i,m going to disregard some of jerry snell,s information. regards, carla jean page --- On Fri, 6/20/08, [email protected] <[email protected]> wrote: From: [email protected] <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [PAGE] Lettie Bell Page To: [email protected], [email protected] Date: Friday, June 20, 2008, 5:41 PM Sorry, do not find your Lettie Belle Page. You don't mention the year of her birth. IF she was born prior to 1930 she should be listed in the US Federal Census for the year 1930 which is available on line from ancestry.com. IF she was born after that, you should contact the office that keeps vital statistics for the state in which she was born. I've "rescued" an old photograph of 6 men taken by C. E. Wellman in Chester, Vermont. The photograph was taken outside in front of a home or building and indicates that it is either in Chester or Bellows Falls, VT. The photograph is dated 1904 and identifies the men in the photograph as: Albert MORCE (guessing this is actually MORSE) F. C. PARMENTER Eliet MORCE (guessing this is Eliot MORSE) L. N. PARMENTER L. E. DAY Rob SLOAN And the dog "Stride" identified as well. The men in the photograph appear to range in age from 20's to 60's. Based on limited research I was able to locate quite a lot of information regarding this group of men and have included that information below: Foster C. PARMENTER b. Sept 1876 in VT to parents Lucien PARMENTER (b. Oct 1847 in VT) and Alice R. CUTLER (b. Mar 1857 in VT). Foster married Lulu M. MORRIS about 1903 and together they had two children, Arminala R. PARMENTER b. about 1904 and Alletah E. PARMENTER b. about 1909 both in VT. It appears that he may have also been married previously as noted in census info below. Dear George, Could you please tell me if there are many UK based PAGE members who have had the DNA test done? I had put aside my Family History research for some time now and with it the plans to round up a brother or Uncle for the DNA test. I guess I could also put my tardiness down to the fact that I have not noticed any UK based Pages contributing.... Your efforts in the quest for DNA testing and the subsequent results are commendable and Im sure everyone involved appreciates what you have done. It has been some time since I last posted my Jacob O. Page. Census has him born in Canada abt. 1823 .In the margin of the census--Toronto was written in. We believe the O. middle name was Oliver because his son was named Oliver Jacob. By 1860 he was found in Vermillion Co IL where he married a widow named Caroline Long Overholser. He is next found working as a machinist in Danville Il. where he died in 1869. His son stated that his father served in the Civil War from IL. but no record has been found. Any help is appreciated.
