    3. According to my research, Axel Heath Page Sr was born on 3 Apr 1785, place unknown. He married Sally T. Innis on 12 Apr 1807 in Amherst Co., VA. Sally's father was John Innis and she had a sister, Winny Innis. Axel Sr shows up in Warren Co., KY in 1805 with a land grant for 200 acres. He is in the 1810 census with wife and young son, Marble. He appears again in the 1820 census of Warren Co and then moves to Lafayette Co, MO, sometime around 1827. He had six sons and no daughters as indicated by the 1820 census of Warren Co, and the 1830 census of Lafayette Co. He and wife were between 40 & 50 years old in 1830. Axel Sr died on 20 Aug 1840. Only 4 of Axel's sons are found in the 1840 census of Lafayette Co; ie: Joseph, Marble, Granville, and Axel Jr. His son Richard is listed in the 1840 census of Johnson Co, MO. Richard, along with the other 4, does show up in the 1850 census of Lafayette Co. I think his son John shows up in the 1850 census of Washington Co, MO. Here is a list of the children: 1. Marble Watts Page, b1809 in KY, m. Nancy Johnson on 22 Dec 1836 2. John Burton Page (no additional info) 3. Axel Heath Page Jr, m. Sally Richey on 14 Mar 1831 4. Joseph Henry Page, b1814, m. Elizabeth Couts(Coats) on 7 Jan 1836 5. Richard Fountain Page, b1815, m. Margaret Richey on 17 Jan 1834 6. Granville R. Page, b1816, m1. Mary Ridge on 22 Jul 1835, m2. Lucinda F. Johnson. I have a listing of what I think are all the children of these sons except John Burton Page. I have not carried these families any further to get the names of the children's wives. Marble, Joseph and Richard each had a son named Axel. The WFT listing as Joseph M. instead of Joseph Henry is incorrect. I don't show any son having an Andrew J. (maybe John Burton's son?) I extracted the above info from files in Bowling Green, Warren Co, KY, and Lafayette Co, MO, after making several trips there. Some have said Axel Heath Page Sr listed above is the son of Joseph Page, the youngest son of Exolheath Page in Goochland. That is yet to be proved, but is very feasible. I would be glad to send a 4 page printout of this family if you send me a legal size SASE and state what you are asking for. I get SASE's with no request and I don't know what they want. 3. My goodness, I've been overwhelmed with book buyers! Thanks to you all for showing such an interest in them. There were so many of you that I'm taking this public way to acknowledge your messages. However, I haven't even decided which of my used books to offer for sale as yet and won't have time until after the Holidays to make a list of them. I am keeping the messages from those of you who have written to me about them and will send you the list personally when I make it. I was just asking where I could put the list so that other genealogists might see it. It's nice to know that there may be a potential market for them when the time comes. In the past, I have given my used books to a local genealogy library; but the new books that I want to purchase are so much more costly now that I cannot afford to do give them away any more.

I have Coldham's book you cite and on pgs. 379/380 there is a reference to petitions signed by some inhabitants of Somers Island (Bermuda) complaining about breaches of the charter by the Company and asking to be governed by the laws of England. Although Anthonye Page was not a signer his name was listed with others as being able to bear arms. The citation is PRO:Co1/13/38/ii-iii The PRO stands for Public Record Office. The records with a CO prefix are held at the PRO, Kew, Richmond, Surrey, TW9 4DU, England. The address of the Corporation of London Record Office is PO Box 270, Guildhall, London, EC2P 2EJ, England. The only Anthony Page connection that I am aware of in 17th century England was associated with the Saxthorpe, Norfolk, Pages who thrived from 1501 through 1723. There were three Anthony Pages in this family: Anthony Page m. Elizabeth Blount in 1584 in London and died in 1618 with no known living issue. Anthony Page m. Elizabeth Gresham on 27 April 1626 and they had several children including an Anthony Page who was born and died in 1625. George

    3. To answer some of the questions about GPS units, read on. 1. The accuracy at present is about 100 meters (which is a little more than 300 feet for you non-metric people). That accuracy will get you real close to a location you are looking for with no problem. 2. My main interest in using this method is to give people a way to find abandoned cemeteries which are not now on present day maps and believe me, there are a lot of them! I am not concerned about major cemeteries so much because they are on most maps. Old topographic maps show a number of abandoned cemeteries but no-where near all of them. 3. It is important to know that two methods of recording positions are commonly used here in the US. One uses Degrees, Minutes and Seconds, written as: 30 deg., 45 min., 30 seconds but the other uses a fractional notation such as: 30 deg., 45.5 minutes which is the same as the location above. A location in Denver, Colorado would be written as: 39 deg. 45.00 N & 105 deg. 00.00 W. Be sure to put a decimal point in if you are using the decimal system or it can be very confusing! 4. I am presently using DeLorme Street Atlas USA, version 6.0. With it, I can put a lat/lon flag on any location and it stores that info. for future reference. You can place any name or words on the map along with the location. I can then print out a map, which shows the flag on it for other people's use, or for me to use if I don't have my notebook computer with me. 5. At the present time, I do not have access to any cemetery records here at my home. Don Fox DonFox@cybertrails.com

    3. I have a Magellan GPS 2000 XL Satellite Navigator. There are many GPS units (receivers) available from $100 up to whatever you wish to pay. Even the cheapest units are capable of telling you the latitude and longitude accurately enough to find any geographical location if known. They are small, portable, almost pocket size, and operate on internal batteries or 12 volts from your car cig. lighter socket. I use DeLorme Street Atlas USA mapping program to save my locations on a map which I can print out & send a copy to other people if needed. You don't need a mapping program to use the GPS unit. You can just write down the location for future reference if you don't have the program. The mapping program will let you simply find any Lat./ Long. coordinates in the United States of any location you want. If someone gave me coordinates of a cemetery that was out in the woods on a farm in Kentucky, I could go right to it. I have been using my GPS unit and saving this info. for some time now, hoping some other people would start doing the same. I will be happy to answer any questions about this because I want to locate a number of cemeteries yet that seem to be lost! A number of electronics stores such as Radio Shack carry some of these units. Also, some sporting goods stores, since they are good for hikers and hunters to find their way back. I bought mine from K-Mart in the sporting goods section. If you get coordinates on any cemeteries in Madison Co., Kentucky or Pike Co., Illinois, send them to me! Don Fox DonFox@cybertrails.com

    3. To all of you cemetery hunters out there and to all who will be a cemetery hunter someday, I want to make a suggestion! Buy or borrow a GPS (Global Positioning Satellite) unit. Take it with you to all of the cemeteries you visit and record the latitude and longitude for future reference. I have been doing this and I have a computer map program that I can locate any place just by coordinates. If everyone would do this, and provide the location along with the cemetery inventories, we would all be able to find these even when hidden by trees and brush! Questions, just E-mail me and no, I am not selling these units. Don Fox DonFox@cybertrails.com
