I know, isn't it strange that there are sooo many people concentrating on one particular area or another? I see many researching PAGE's in Maine, Vermont, Missouri, etc.. but none in the Carolinas to speak of. It's like no one has an interest in our southern roots but many a Yankee has traced their ancestors back to Europe. The same goes for my MINOR/MINER lines. They have been done to death concerning the English MINERs of Virginia but no one has concentrated on our French-Canadian MINORs, which are also my lines. A listing in the 1820 Virginia index for Abednego Page looks like he came to Ohio between 1821 and 1828. He is listed in the 1830 Ohio index but not the 1840. [ He must have died between 1837 and 1840. The last child Matilda born.] The 1820 Page listing is for Frederick Co. Virginia, which is in the northern part near Maryland. Seems that Abednego Page married and had two sons in Virginia and then moved to Ohio and had two more sons and a daughter by 1830. Then two more daughters and possibly another son before he died prior to 1840. [Joseph appears to have been born in 1831 so there is a son and a daughter we don't know the names of.] There are no Page's listed for the 1840 census in Tuscarawas Co. Perhaps the daughter born between 1821 and 1825 had married by then and they were all listed under his family name as head of household. The children of Abednego and Elizabeth [Shane, Shehen, Sheehan] Page appear to be; Jesse and William, Born in Virginia. Asbury, Joseph, Mary A., Matilda, born in Ohio. Also another daughter and possibly another son, born in Ohio. In the 1880 census William said his father was born in Maryland and his mother was born in Virginia. Therefore we don't know at this time when he came to Frederick Co., Virginia. My sister sent me this information and I was hoping someone would have more information to add to it. Before it happens and I get bombarded with e-mail asking if I know this person and that person, let me clear it up. I posted that my site is back online http://members.aol.com/SPage1957/surnames.htm but it concentrates on my own Sampson County, NC line. I don't have any information outside this area to be able to answer your questions. In fact, I can't even find my own great grandparents parents who were in NC! Maybe someone can connect with my direct lines? But what you see online is it guys...Sorry for any confusion. Steven Page Got a business? Got a hobby? Need a WEB PAGE Designed or maintained? I thought i would try to clear up some confusion about my PAGE family or maybe add more. I am still looking for the parents of my Joseph Page Sr. (ca1741-ca1820) of UpperFreehold Twp, Monmouth Co, NJ. He married Margret "Ann" Robbins on 26 Aug 1761 and moved to Fayette County, PA in 1801. For his descendants you can check out my home page at: http://pages.prodigy.net/mapage/homepage/index.htm NOW as for the confusing part, MARGRET ROBBINS-PAGE parents were SAMUEL ROBBINS and MARGARET PAGE (they were married in 1728). They were quakers and associated with the Chesterfield MM. Burlington Co NJ. Records state that MARGARET PAGE's parents were a JOHN and ELIZABETH PAGE. Based on correspondents with others on the mailing list it was thought that MARGARET PAGE was a daughter of JOHN & ELIZABETH PAGE of Cape May NJ. However recent finding make me believe that she was NOT the daughter of JOHN & ELIZABETH of Cape May, BUT of a different JOHN & ELIZABETH PAGE. One factor that makes me beleive this is that the Will abstact of John Page of Cape May NJ [dated May 27, 1729] does not list Margaret as a daughter but lists all of his other children. But the NEW more substanial evidence is from information provided to me by correspondance with a Sally Ivy.. She mentions a EDWARD PAGE of Chesterfiled Twp, Burlington Co,c NJ, whose intestate (file number 12054C) when he died Oct 23 1802 divides his property and inventory to his realtives. It is believed he never married. One relative listed was his SISTER Mrs MARGARET ROBBINS and their children AARON and SAMUEL. This information fits with all the Robbins information i have obtained about Samuel and Mararet. The administrators of Edward Page's estate were also Aaron Robbins and Ezra Black. Edward also had another known sister, Rachel Page who married George Hopkins. So now my question is, does anyone have anymore information about PAGE's in Burlington Co NJ (particullary Chesterfield Twp) and also still who where the parents of my JOSEPH PAGE Sr of UpperFreehold TWP Monmouth Co, NJ _____________ Other Burlington Co, Chesterfiled Twp PAGE information i have found but am unsure of the connection include.: JOHN PAGE of Chesterfield, Burlington Co NJ will dated June 26 1754. Wife Sophia, sons ASA and HENRY both under age [not sure what age this means] witnesses Roweth Beck, John Chapman Jr, Joseph Reckless. PHEBE PAGE of Chesterfield Twp, Burlington Co, NJ widow, will dated Jul 2 1806.. Sons JOHN PAGE and DANIEL PAGE. Three granddaughters Hannah, Phebe, and Mary LIPPINCOTT. States she was living with her son in law JOHN W. LIPPINCOTT witnesses: John Hall, Clarissa Chapman Thanks Mathew Page mapage@prodigy.net

This is a post I also made some time ago, with a little additional new info. Hopefully someone will recognize this line. Marion W. Page was my GGgrandfather. He was born about 1850. I don't know where he was born but he served in the 5th Fla Infantry (CSA) where he lost a leg. He was supposedly a preacher. His children (born in FL) included George Washington Page and M. Angie Page. Please drop me a line if anyone can help with this line. Thanks. Bill wilbees@aol.com

Anybody recognize these people??: (they were in Burlington NJ at least in 1783) Apollus PAGE b (my est) ca 1760 Axiby _____ b (my est) ca 1760 daughter: "Mamie" Anna PAGE b 06 Nov 1783 Burlington, NJ, d 01 Dec 1856 Wellsboro, Tioga Co., PA, bur Wellsboro Cemetery m 28 Nov 1811 Philadelphia, PA William BACHE b Broomsgrove, ENG 22 Dec 1771. He emigrated 1793, arrived in Philadelphia 03 May. He was a silhouette maker, and traveled extensively. Was a merchant and postmaster after settling in Wellsboro, Tioga Co., PA ca 1812. Their children were William, Laugher, Sarah, John Norris, Harriett and Anna. There was a John NORRIS who settled also early in Wellsboro who I see as a possible connection (This family tended to use surnames for middle names; this one went down awhile and I don't see it in the BACHEs). For some reason I just can't find Apollus anywhere! Seems that with that odd name I would (and with a wife named Axiby). ANY info on ANY Pages in The Burlington area would be appreciated. I like to check them all for clues. Thanks, Debbie Smith
Hello friends: I am new to the list, and am wondering if anyone has info on my Page branch. I've been stuck for years with the Pages, far from LA records here in MN. The furthest back that memory takes us is Malcolm Page. Not much is known but that he lived in the South, and may have had a wife with Latin blood. Child of Malcolm Page and ?? is: 2 i. Theodore Page, born abt 1895; died 1965. He married (1) ? ?. He married (2) Lillian Grace Mattison 1926 in Covington, LA, daughter of Franklin Mattison and Clara ?. Child of Theodore Page and ? ? is: 3 i. ? Page. Children of Theodore Page and Lillian Mattison are: + 4 i. Raymond Maxwell Page, born 8 August 1931 in Covington, LA; died 9 July 1981 in Jacksonville,Onslow, NC. + 5 ii. Frank Page. + 6 iii. Theodore Page, born 12 November 1932 in Covington, LA; died 27 September 1996 in Missoula, MT. + 7 iv. John Page, born in Covington, LA. + 8 v. Fred Page, born in Covington, LA; died Bef. 1993. 9 vi. Baby Page, born in Covington, LA; died at birth. Any clues would be welcome! Ted
Barbara.... Yes! Mine come also from the Sampson County/Duplin County area! But the earliest one I can trace back is my great-grandfather Richard Page (1832-1912) who married in 1856 to Sarah Elizabeth Bennett (1834-1908). They were living in the 1860 census at Piney Grove and then moved to Clinton when Sarah's brother Fleet Bennett died and willed her his share of land (300 acres) in 1864. There is a strong "possibility" that Owen and Edith Page may be his parents but can't find a complete list of names for their children. Owen died in 1850 - missing the census as did Richard. Richard and Sarah had 13 children, 12 lived and one died early (age 11). There were two sets of twins and strangely, many of the men either never married or married late in life. 6 out of the 9 boys he had never married (one as said died young and there was a stillborn). All 4 girls married but one died during childbirth in 1862. My grandfather George Leonidas "Lon" Page (1867-1944) married at the age of 59 to a 15 year old girl, my grandmother, and his first marriage! The children names were - not in any order below: (Infant Son) Page Hardy Scott Page "Scott" Hattie Cooper Page "Hattie" Robert McCulloch Page "Robert" John Richard Page "Richard or J.R." Jacob Sampson Page "Sam" Columbus Owen Page "C.O., Owen or Odie" Webster Mapes Page "Mapes" Franklin Dobbin Page "Dobbin" <--female Berilla Eva Page "Berilla" Callie Stewart Page "Callie" Wade Hampton Page "Hampton" George Leonidas Page "Lon" Does any of my line ring a bell?
