I have done extensive research on the Kentish Pages, many of whom lived in the greater London area, from the late 1600's back as far as 1280. Others that I know in the U.S. are working on the county Middlesex, Eng., Pages; and I am working with a Raymond Page of Norwich, county Norfolk, Eng. on the Norfolk Pages, especially those that lived in the vicinity of Saxthorpe, Norfolk, Eng. up to the late 1700's. Raymond is also working on the Suffolk Pages of antiquity. George W. Page 1100 Cataway Place Bryans Road, MD 20616

Family Reunion Sunday, July 18, 1999 Sulphur Springs, Texas Hopkins County Civic Center A beautiful serene life of a southern gentile family was had by John Johnson PAGE (1815-1871), his wife, Sarah Elenor KENNAMER (1816-1866) and their children. Then, in 1847, the decision was made to move westward. They started liquidating their land and in 1850, they loaded their wagons and headed West. However, by the time they reached Jackson County, Alabama, a weary and pregnant Sarah gave birth to Clarissa Matilda PAGE on December 10, 1850. After some rest, the early Christmas present, her parents, and the PAGE and KENNEMER families continued their journey western to the piney woods of East Texas. Come and celebrate their journey with CRUMP, PERKINS, PAGE, BENNETT, KENNEMER, BROWN descendants on Sunday, July 18, 1999, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Can anyone help with the parents of Thomas Page, b.c. 1721, d. 22 Apr.1786 in Walpole, MA? Thomas Page married Sarah ROBBINS on 8 Sept. 1741/2. She was the daughter of Ebenezer and Mary (Fales) ROBBINS? Jack Thompson <thomson@Bigsky.net> posted a message on Apr. 14, 1998 indicating that Thomas Page was b. in 1720/1 in ENGLAND. He was asking for help as to the location in England, date of immigration, and occupation of Thomas Page. Thomas and Sarah Page had 9 children all b. in Walpole, MA: Thomas (b. 1743), Sarah (1745), Asa(1747), Charles(1750), Ebenezer(1755), Joseph(1757), Anne(1758), and Lebbeus Page(1761). Some feel that Thomas Page was the great, great grandson of John Page and Mary MARSH of Haverhill, MA, and the son of John Page, Jr. and his wife, Sarah DAVIS (the daughter of James DAVIS & Cicely THAYER) who were m. on 18 June 1663. Their only recorded/known child, a daughter Sarah, was b. in 1680, 17 years after their marriage! It would seem reasonable to assume that additional children were born of that union. Savage seemed to think so, because he states, "probably there were other children born before (Sarah), or after, or both." [Ref. Descendants of John Page (1641-1687) of Hingham and Haverhill, MA, by Theda Page Brigham, (Haverhill, NH:Haverhill Hist. Society, 1972)]. Thanks, George W. Page, Col. Looking for help in finding information on my Lisette M. BAGLE who married my Sidney E. PAGE 22 Jan 1850 in Pawlet, VT. (Could someone please tell me what county Pawlet is in? Bennington? Rutland?) Sidney was b abt 1828 probably Rupert. Shortly after their marriage, the young family removed to Fairfax County, VA and then to Fauquier County, VA. By 1856 they were run out of VA and headed back North to New York (Broome County). I have more details on the family if anyone is interested, but by June 1880 the family was in Clear Lake, Cerro Gordo County, Iowa. By Sept 1881 Lisette was not living with Sidney (dead?) They had two children born in Virginia: Edwin Delana PAGE b 1853 and one unnamed child who died shortly after birth. Any and all help GREATLY appreciated. Wow...check this out......one of my favorite type of resource....ONLINE......got this from another list and hope some of you can find a city that helps you out....xxxoooconnie CITY DIRECTORIES ONLINE <<<>>><<<>>><<<>>><<<>>><<<>>><<<>>><<<>>><<<>>><<<>>> ======================================================= Primary Source Media has launched a new site with City Directories online. There are currently directories for 99 cities for the year of 1859, with plans to add more cities periodically, beginning in January 1999. The database "offers full-text searchability, making it possible for the user to search city directories using any word or string of words. For example, you can enter a last name, address, occupation, cultural or business institution, and do a search across the entire database or on a single directory. In addition, you can view full facsimile images of each directory page, providing convenience, speed, and authenticity. Advertisements and city maps are also searchable - an important consideration for art and social historians as well as students of advertising and consumerism." Although results for most of the cities can only be viewed by subscribers, Primary Source Media is offering free searches for Atlanta, Chicago, Galveston, Philadelphia, New York City, and Sacramento. Primary Source Media is also offering free, 30-day trials of our Online Products to libraries that wish to test the full online databases. COMMENT: Just when I think that I'm getting to understand the workings of the computer better, something like #15's post happens! Sorry about the duplication in E-4-6, but I trust that the meaning got through O.K.. I also made an error in E-4-6's birth and baptismal dates. The Douglas Register said that Sally was b. 15 Mar 1773 and bp'd 2 May 1773. I made an error on her birthdate on my family group chart and didn't check it against "Douglas" before putting it in that post. Please change those dates in your Post #15. Also, this obviously means that she wasn't baptized on the same day! After this, I'm just going to keep track of any errors I make and put them all in an "Errata" at the end of the posts.... hopefully, there won't be any more!!!! Children of William PAGE (E-5) I estimate William PAGE's birthdate as ca. 1742-43. This is from the first year that he appears in the Goochland Co., VA Tithable Lists. As stated before, young males became "tithable"/taxable when they reached age 16 in those days. Sometimes, the first year that a male appears in a tax list can be used to determine an approximate birthdate for him. However, several criteria must be ruled out: 1. Did the person move to the county from somewhere else just before he appears in the list? 2. If he didn't appear in the previous year's list, can you be sure that some of those lists were not missing or that he may have been missed in a list? Sometimes the list of the previous year might not show all of the males in a certain household by name, but there may be more than one male living in the household of a male with the same last name. This could indicate that a son was living with his father in the years before he was listed by name. That, too, must be taken into consideration in arriving at an approximate birthdate. William is first listed with Exolheath PAGE in the 1759 "Tithable List". Because no list for 1758 is available, we must consider that he might have been in that list and fix a possible birth date of 1742 for him. The 1757 Tax List shows Exolheath PAGE with only John PAGE, his eldest son, in his household; so William was not 16 by that date. He might have become age 16 after the 1757 tax list was taken....giving even 1741 as a possible birth date.(1) He md. Ann, dau. of William ENGLAND, on 11 Dec 1764 in Goochland Co., VA.(2) Ann was the mother of all of his children. After her death, date unknown, William md. 2) Elizabeth WITT on 14 Feb 1793. No children were born to this marriage. William ENGLAND's will was probated in Goochland Co., VA and named his dau. Ann PAGE among his other children.(3) His dau. Mary md. William PAGE's brother James PAGE (E-6) in 1765. Because the names of DABNEY and ANDERSON came down in William ENGLAND's descendants, it is believed that either he or his wife (name unknown at this time) had ancestors of that name. These names were found in the late 1600's and early 1700's in Hanover Co., VA (made from New Kent Co. in 1721). This William ENGLAND came to Goochland Co. from Hanover Co. in 1762. The first indication that William PAGE had any land in Goochland Co. was the land tax which listed him in 1797 with 15 1/2 acres and in 1798 with 16 1/2 acres in the lower part of the county.(4) The first deed to him is dated 1798 and was evidently for the latter 16 1/2 acres which he purchased from Obadiah UTLEY and his wife Jane (WILLIS).(5) There may be some connection between the 15 1/2 and the 16 1/2 acres---which could partly be the same land. In 1803, he purchased and sold land in Goochland Co.. He purchased 133 acres "on the waters of Stoney Creek" from John GORDON and his wife Judith. (6) This land also lay in the lower part of the county. On the same day as they made the previous deed, William and his wf. Elizabeth joined Obadiah UTLEY and his wf. Jane in deeding 17 1/2 acres to Charles JOHNSON. (7) This deed may have been for the same or a different parcel of land from that which William was taxed on from 1797 to 1802. It appears that William continued to live on the 16 1/2 acres that he was taxed on through 1804 into part of 1805 as well as the 133 acres that he purchased in 1803. The 1805 Land Taxes show him with 149 1/2 acres of land.(8) In 1805, William and Elizabeth deeded 53 1/2 acres of his 133 acres to his son Dabney.(9) William signed his name showing that he could write. The 1806 Land Tax List shows him with 96 acres.(10) That year, he sold 10 acres of his 96 acres of land to John Brown. (11) The deed states that William is "thereunto moving" which could mean that he was moving in with his son, Dabney, to whom he had previously sold part of his land. However, he was taxed on this 96 acres until his death. William PAGE made his will on 9 Apr 1815 and it was probated on 19 June 1815. In it, he named his wife, Elizabeth, and five of his six children---one was evidently dead by this time.(12) Elizabeth, 2nd wife of William PAGE, died in 1816 leaving a will in which she left things to her brother, Benjamin WHITT, her four "daughters-in-law" (step-daughters---daus. of William PAGE), two nieces, Stephen KNOWLEN's wife and daughter (names not given) and Susan, dau. of Samuel MARTIN.(13) William and Ann (ENGLAND) PAGE had six children---five girls and one boy: E-5-1 Mary Anderson PAGE, b. 5 Apr 1767, bp'd 10 May 1767 in Goochland Co..(14) The bond for her marriage to William MARTIN was filed on 7 Dec 1805 in Goochland Co.. Her brother Dabney PAGE was the "surety".(15) This couple was in Mercer Co., KY by 1820. E-5-2 Elizabeth PAGE, b. 10 Feb 1771, bp'd 24 Mar 1771 in Goochland Co..(14) As she is not named in her father's will, she must have died before he wrote it. E-5-3 Nansy/Nancy PAGE, b. 4 Nov 1772, bp'd 13 Dec 1772 in Goochland Co., VA.(14) She md. Martin CARTER on 22 Oct 1791 in the same county. The marr. bond was dated 17 Oct 1791 with the "surety" being William PAGE.(16) This couple was in Mercer Co., KY by 1820. E-5-4 Christian PAGE, birthdate unknown. The bond for her marriage to John RYAN was dated 13 Oct 1786 in Goochland Co., the "surety" being William PAGE and the "witness" being William PARRISH.(17) E-5-5 Dabney Anderson PAGE, b. 24 Nov 1776, bp'd 26 Jan 1776 (sic).(18) He md. Elizabeth HANCOCK in Goochland Co., VA. They were md. by Rev. Lewis CHAUDOIN. Their marr. bond was filed there on 8 Apr 1801. The marr. date was not given although it must have occurred either on that day or shortly thereafter. The "surety" on the bond was Major HANCOCK, Jr. and the "witness" was Richard BATES.(19) Elizabeth, the dau. of Major HANCOCK, Sr. and his wife Ann THOMAS, was born 4 Jan 1774 and bp'd 13 Mar 1774. Her first name was given as "Betsy" in the birth record.(20) Although Dabney obviously had his own land, he and his wife were enumerated in the household of his father in the 1810 Census of Goochland Co., VA. He evidently moved away from there after his father's death as he appears for the last time in the Goochland Co. tax lists in 1817 and is in Mercer Co., KY by 1820 and in Hopkins Co., KY in 1830. He died sometime before 13 Jul 1840 when his heirs deeded his land "on the waters of Pond River" in Hopkins Co., KY to John S. EAVES and Dan(?) C. TURLEEVILLE ----acreage of land is not given. In this deed, the dower rights of Polly PAGE "if any" are mentioned showing that Dabney probably md. a second time. The deed names three sons and three daughters, two of the daughters being married.(21) A Deed of Release, dated 1841 to the heirs of Dabney PAGE for the payment of back taxes on the land states that the land involved was 70 acres.(22) E-5-6 Susanna PAGE, birth and death dates unknown. The bond for her marriage to William WILLIS was filed on 17 Aug 1805 in Goochland Co., VA with the "surety" being William MILLER. The bond states that she is the dau. of William PAGE.(23) Susanna is named in both her father's and step-mother's wills.(12)(13) NOTES (1) "Goochland County, Virginia Tithable Lists, 1728-1782, PAGE Family", 1994. Hello, I am looking for information on Maria Judith Page, born in February 24, 1714. Birth place and place and date of death unknown. Maria Judith Page married William Randolph, who was born in 1712, died 1745, suspect somewhere in the Virginia, West Virginia area. They had at least one son, Thomas Mann Randolph, born 1741, died Nov. 1793, who married Anne Cary. Suspect they too were from the Virginia and West Virginia area. Any help or connections here would be appreciated, thanks again, Bill' bstill@ctaz.com
Children of James PAGE (E-6) James Page's birthdate is estimated from the Goochland Co., VA "Tithable Lists" as ca. 1744-1745. He was first listed with Exolheath PAGE in 1761 which means that he was at least 16 years of age at that date. He continued to be listed with Exolheath PAGE in the lists through 1765 (the year of his marriage), but is in his own household from 1766 onward the years that he is there.(1) He md. Mary (Mary Ann), dau. of William ENGLAND, in Goochland Co., VA on 16 May 1765.(2) Mary Ann was the sister of Ann ENGLAND who md. James' brother William (E-5). Before moving to Goochland Co., William ENGLAND had lived in neighboring Hanover Co.. James cannot be found in the Goochland Co. "tithable lists" from 1778 through 1781 and may have lived in another VA county during this time. There were men of that name in several other nearby counties to the west and south of Goochland Co. at these dates, but not enough evidence has been collected to determine whether any of these were this James or other men of the same first name. He was granted a warrant issued in Richmond, VA on 13 Dec 1783 for his services in the Goochland Co., VA militia under Capt. Gideon HATCHER in 1781 and received 2.4 English Pounds for this.(3) James purchased his first land from William TURNER in Goochland Co. in 1791. This was 62 acres called "the Whittle" on a branch of Licking- hole Creek. He paid one English Pound per acre for it.(4) On the same day in 1791, he also purchased another 17 3/4 acres of "the Whittle" from James ROBARDS for 17.15 English Pounds. This land bordered the previously purchased land.(5) These two parcels totalled 79 3/4 acres. No more deeds to James are found in the Goochland Co. records, but this land must have been re-surveyed or upgraded as the Land Tax Books show him variously with 80 1/4 and 80 1/2 acres. James died sometime before 11 Mar 1797 when the inventory of his personal property was made and recorded in Sept 1797. It totalled 71.7.10 English Pounds. The land was not usually included in such inventories. This was a rather small estate and included the usual tools of a farmer, cattle, farm implements, household items and some books---indicating that James or someone else in his family could read. There were no slaves in the list.(6) His widow, Mary, applied for Letters of Administration on his estate at the January Court 1797 and gave bond of 200 English Pounds with Anderson PAGE, James PAGE and Robert MIMS as her securities. The extra bond over James' appraised personal estate evidently represented the estimated value of his land.(7) James and his wife, Mary Ann, had seven children: E-6-1 Elizabeth PAGE, b. 26 Mar 1766, bp'd 29 Jun 1766 in Goochland Co., VA.(8) She md. Thomas, son of William MORELAND and Ann WILSON on 29 Apr 1797 in Goochland Co., VA.(9) Thomas and Elizabeth (PAGE) MORELAND moved to Carter Co., TN sometime after 1799, the last time that Thomas appeared in the Personal Property Tax Lists of Goochland County. E-6-2 Anderson PAGE, b. 27 Jul 1768, bp'd 4 Sep 1768 in Goochland Co., VA.(8) He and Frances ("Fanny"), dau. of Zachariah WILLIAMS and Mary POOR were md. there on 10 Oct 1789 by Rev. Hugh FRENCH.(10). Anderson and his family left Goochland Co. in 1799 for Spartanburg Co. (District), SC where some of his PAGE relatives had settled. He is listed in the 1800 Census there. In 1808, Anderson & Fanny sold their 1/4th interest in the estate of his father in Goochland Co. to his brother William PAGE (E-6-6).(11) Anderson signed his own name and Fanny signed with an "X". In 1805, Anderson purchased 50 acres of land from Samuel Paden in Spartanburg Co., SC..(12) He did not appear in the 1810 Census of Spartanburg Co., SC or in any other county in that State. Neither was he in the census of KY that year. However, in 1811 Anderson sold his 50 acres in Spartanburg Co. to James PAGE.(12) By 1815, he was in Cumberland Co., KY near where his cousin John PAGE, son of his uncle Robert PAGE (E-9) of Spartanburg Co., SC, had moved. In 1815, 46 acres of land on Mud Camp Creek, a branch of the Cumberland River, in Cumberland Co., KY was surveyed for Anderson.(13) Five years later, in 1820, another 50 acres which adjoined the 1815 land was surveyed for him. (14) He continued to live on this land until his death. When Monroe Co. was created in 1820 from parts of Cumberland and Barren Cos., this land appears to have fallen into the both Cumberland and Monroe Cos.. The 1820 Census of KY listed Anderson PAGE in both Monroe and Cumberland Cos.. This is not two Anderson PAGE men, it is one and the same man. It is said that, when the boundary line between Monroe and Cumberland Cos. was surveyed in 1823 and recorded in the (lost) Cumberland Co. records, that it left Anderson in Cumberland Co. and his son James in Monroe Co..(15) It is confusing about just what county his land was in because the tax records for Cumberland Co. are missing from 1806 to 1832. The earliest Monroe Co. Tax Lists are 1820 to 1845. Anderson appears in the Monroe Co. tax lists in 1821 (with 46 and 56 acres on Mud Camp Creek) and then not again until 1826.(16) He probably died ca. 1826-1828 in Monroe Co., KY and family still in KY think that he is buried in an unmarked grave in the PAGE family graveyard on the property. The last year that he appeared in the tax lists of Monroe Co. was 1826. His name is not in the 1827 list and, in 1828, the Monroe Co., KY list shows: ex. of A. Page 56 acres in Cumberland Co. " " " " 5 acres "' " " (16) Because the probate records for Monroe and Cumberland Cos. before 1861 were destroyed, Anderson's probate record is not available, but the names of his children are known through family records. His wife, Fanny, outlived him and died in October of 1842 while on a visit to her son, Joshua, who had moved to Henry Co., MO. Many years ago, I wrote to the county clerk in Spartanburg, SC asking for grantee and grantor deeds involving Anderson PAGE for the period 1795 to 1820 and received the answer that there were none. This proves that there were two such deeds. Thanks to Donald for this information. (13) Cumberland Co., KY Land Survey Records New Bk. A, p. 395. I am still seeking parents for Richard Page (1832-1912) from Clinton (Sampson Co), NC. He married Sarah Elizabeth Bennett (1834-1908) and had 13 children. It seems I have exhausted my resources trying to find him? Maybe someone can offer alternatives? I have checked his military records but they only contain Muster Rolls. He was a prisoner but didn't write home and settled on land that was inherited by his wife from her brother in 1864. He missed the 1850 census but shows up married and on his own in 1860 at Piney Grove, NC. Can't get a response from anyone to help find the church he belonged to (which still stands) called Boykin Chapel Baptist Church located in the southern part of Clinton. His Masonic Lodge doesn't respond and his obituary didn't mention his parents. NC records started in 1913, the year after he died so nothing there. He left no will, can't find a family bible and is buried in his own private family cemetery on the land they owned. All of his children are dead and if I have located decendants, they don't reply to my letters. What next? Steven Page
Someone passed along the info on Owen Page (1790-1850) of Cumberland/Sampson Co., NC some time ago and included with his children was a Penny Page (c.1832). I am in a puzzle now (like I wasn't before). As you know, my great- grandfather Richard Page (1832-1912) married Sarah Elizabeth Bennett (1834-1908) the daughter of Hardy Draughon Bennett (1802-1870). Hardy Bennett's will states his wife's name was Penny. This would have been a second marriage sometime around 1863. Knowing the closeness of the Page/Bennett families, this is my puzzle. It has been noted that Penny Page married Bennett Hardy and Hardy Bennett's will said he was married to a Penny. Could there have been a switch in names (Hardy Bennett -vs- Bennett Hardy)? I also know that there were legitimate HARDY families from Bertie, Johnston, Chowan and other more northern counties but wondered if Owen Page's daughter actually married a HARDY or a BENNETT from the Sampson County (next door) area? Am I assuming too much to think the two Penny's are the same and wishfully linking Owen Page as possible father to my Richard Page for now? Steven Page
NOTE: On Part #14, please change the identification number of Jesse PAGE to E-4-2 instead of 1-4-2. Thanks. Children of John PAGE (E-4) cont'd E-4-3 Betsy/Betty PAGE Betsy was b. 24 Jun 1767 and bp'd 19 Jul 1767 in Goochland Co., VA.(1) She md. David SAUNDERS/SANDERS on 1 Nov 1792 there.(2) He was md. previous to a girl with the last name of FIELDS and had a son, Thomas, by her. David was made the guardian of Betsy's nephew Samuel PAGE.(3) Samuel was the son of Betsy's brother Jesse PAGE (E-4-2) who died ca. 1793. David SAUNDERS served in the VA State Troops in the Rev. War and was granted a pension of $40 per year in 1833 at age 72.(4) It is reported that David and Betsy SAUNDERS moved to Logan Co., KY in 1816, but he is not in the Gooch- land Co. Personal Property Tax Lists after 1814. David died in Logan Co., KY in 1838 leaving a will naming some of his children, but no wife, so we can can probably assume that Betsy/Betty was deceased by then. The sons that he mentioned in his will were Thomas, James and John, the latter being deceased at David's death. John's six children were left his share of the estate.(5) There may have been other children, although they were not named in the will, because the will stipulated that the remaining portion of his estate was to be distributed amongst all his children. Thomas was by David's first wife, but James and John were his children by Betsy/Betty PAGE. John was age 16 by 1811 and James was age 16 by 1814.(6) E-4-4 James PAGE James was b. 12 Nov 1769 and bp'd 18 Nov 1769 in Goochland Co., VA.(7) He was first taxed with his father in 1788 and was not in these lists after that date. No further information. E-4-5 Nancy PAGE Nancy's birthdate is unknown as it does not appear in the Douglas Register. However, it seems to fit in the period of ca. 1771-1772. She md. William PAGE (E-7-1), son of Benjamin PAGE (E-7) who was the son of Exolheath PAGE (E) sometime after 15 Dec 1794 in Goochland Co..(8) William and Nancy PAGE sold their land in Goochland Co., VA on 22 Nov 1814 and joined other PAGE families in Logan Co., KY---possibly traveling with her sister Betsy and her husband, David SAUNDERS.(9) They had eight children, three of whom md. PAGE cousins. William died in 1826 and Nancy died in 1828 in Logan Co., KY.(10) E-4-6 Sally PAGE She was b. 2 May 1773 and bp'd the same day.(11) It was unusual for a child to be baptized the same day it was born unless it was not expected to live. No no more information on her which makes one wonder if more information has been found on her so perhaps she died as an infant. E-4-7 Lewis PAGE He was probably b. ca. 1784-1788. Assuming that men rarely md. before reaching the age of 21 in those days and he was md. in 1805, he could have been born by 1784. However, Lewis was first taxed with his father in 1804, which would mean that he had reached age 16 either in 1803 or 1804....giving him a possible birth year as late as 1787-1788. He md. 1) Nancy HODGES, the dau. of Johnson HODGES and Lucy PAGE (E-2?). Lewis and Nancy were md. sometime after 18 Nov 1805 (the date of their marr. bond).(12) About the time that his PAGE cousins were moving to Logan Co., KY, Lewis moved his family to Madison Co., AL. This would be in 1811 (before the tax was taken in Goochland Co., VA) as 1810 is the last year that Lewis appears in those lists.(6) Lewis and Nancy had five children. After Nancy died, Lewis md. 2) Rebecca Thomas JONES on 4 Jan 1819 in Madison Co., AL. By this 2nd marriage, there were four more children. Rebecca died in 1838 and Lewis md. 3) Nancy RIGINS, widow of Eli RIGINS, on 30 Jul 1839. Lewis and Nancy had one child and then agreed to separate after a few years of marriage. This child (a girl) had the middle name of WILBURN which makes one wonder if either Lewis or his 3rd wife, Nancy, had that lineage. Lewis died on 13 Apr 1868 in Marshall Co., AL and is buried in the Pisgah Cemetery in Kennamer Cove, AL. (13) His descendants have an annual reunion in Kennamer Cove. NOTES (1) Douglas: 264. (2) Williams: 88. John PAGE was the "surety" for the bond filed the same day. They were md. by Rev. Lewis CHAUDOIN. This record is also in Deed Bk. 16, p. 147. (3) Goochland Co., VA Ct. Order Bk. 24, p. 368. (4) Rev. War Pension #S-31348. Information from Mrs. Eleanor Poindexter of Russellville, KY. (5) Logan Co., KY Will Bk. G, p. 24-25. Rutherford, 1987, Revised 1993. (7) Douglas: 264. (8) Williams: 70. This is the date the marr. bond for this marriage was filed in Goochland Co., VA. Nancy is called the dau. of John PAGE in this document. The "surety" was David SANDERS or SAUNDERS who had md. Nancy's sister, Betsy. (9) Goochland Co., VA Deed Bk. 21, p. 678-679. (10) Information from Mrs. Eleanor Poindexter of Russellville, KY. (11) Douglas: 264 (12) Williams: 70. The "surety" for the bond was Leonard PAGE and the "witness" was W. Miller. (13) Some of the information on the Lewis PAGE family was supplied by Cleone Hodges of Gatesville, TX (sent by Jim Miller), Jim Miller of Houston, TX, Lewis Wendall Page of Scottsboro, TN and Patty Woodall of Nashville, TN. John PAGE's (E-4) children concluded. (next - children of William PAGE, son of Exolheath)

Hi, When doing more research today on my PAGE , I copied the 1850 census INDEX for Indiana and Marriages in IL, IN and KY for all PAGE (surname) listed. These are only INDEXS and for the marriages not all counties or years are listed, but there is alot of info here. The years 1792 to 1916. Differnent dates for different counties. I would be happy to look for your PAGE name in these indexs. Just e-mail me at- coupons@wizzards.net Lillie
In the 1880 census of McNairy Co. TN. a JANE PAGE, Age 67, is listed. According to the census, she and her parents were all from SC. One of her daughter, Lucinda Page, married John William Henry Gilton in Old Tishomingo Co., MS. in 1857. Would anyone have any information on this Page family? E. J. Wilson Osprey7@aol.com
I have a cross-stitched sampler signed (stitched) Rebecca Page Chamberlin, Boston, 1811. This was in my mother-in-laws "things" when she died. Her Mother was a Chamberlin. Also in her things was a pitcher, white ceramic, well broken and repaired, supposedly given to Rev. War soldiers with the name Edward Chamberlin inscribed. My question is: Is the the Rebecca PAGE who married Thomas Chamberlin 3 May 1773, the daughter of Edward and Rebekah (Kilby) Page, the mother of the missing Edward Chamberlin of this line?. Rebecca was born 10 Oct 1746. Did Thomas and Rebecca son Edward? Did Thomas have a father Edward? Edward runs strongly in the Chamberlin line as a front name. I think I am missing a generation to connect to Thomas and Rebecca Page Chamberlin and need some help in finding my missing ancestor. My husband's grandmother: Marion Norwood Chamberlin b. Boston 1864/5 she had a brother Edward H. Father: George Barret Chamberlin b. 28 Feb 1837 Brighton, Ma brother Edward H. b. 1835 (Boston?) sister Susan REBECCA b. 23 June 1839 Brighton, Ma Father: Edward Chamberlin jr. b abt 1809 -- m.
