    3. I would invite my great grandfather, Joseph Page, b. 25 Dec 1835 in Province Connaught, Co. Galway, Ireland. He came to America (NY) abt 1848, being a stowaway on a ship. He showed up in Lincoln Co., MO in the Spring of 1858 and lived out his life there, passing away on 24 Feb 1904. I would ask him to describe the details of his journey, especially how he managed to stowaway on that ship and remain on board, until he arrived in American. I would also asked him where he was between 1848 and 1858.     3. Thanks Carla, I wrote most of that information. Just wondering if anyone on this list is connected, and has done the DNA test to see what Page family we are connected to. I had an elderly cousin who submitted to the LDS church some incorrect data, now it is registered and will be on the net forever. So, one of the items quoted was incorrect (marriage in Lancaster Dekalb Co, TN) but can't be changed. :( Thanks again for your help. Michelle

My grandfather stated that one of his ancestors was a Danish sea captain, but I don't know who. A German friend said Page with a German pronunciation was a North German name.     3. Hello PAGE Listers: A remarkable discovery has been made of a historic 'Page' grave in the Niagara Canada area. About 100 known descendants of this family so far - which is far from what it should be. It is most likely the wife of one Thomas Otway-Page, first Sheriff of early Niagara. although he is thought to be buried in Toronto himself. Thomas Otway-Page may not have been a Page but was probably an Otway. Page might have been his mothers name but genealogists are having troubles finding out who the mother was for sure. Please watch the video news clip too and send ideas to me. There is a really great genealogist in this family I will put you in touch with. Please tell us George if it is possible to do the y-DNA test on the bones. We have requested that be done in the hopes that it might be affordable to the historic community who is paying for the exhumations. I suspect that the Archaeological company that is doing the excavation already knows how this can be done The skeleton they found is most probably the wife of Thomas Otway-Page who was Sarah Haines. She had requested to be buried in almost that exact location - today they are digging a pipeline there and the bodies were discovered. Their son Perigrene Otway-Page wrote: "My Mother died in 1852, full of years, aged 84, and she was laid to rest, by her special request, on the bank of Lake Erie, on Lot 32 B.F.L.E., overlooking Point Abino Bay, a most beautiful spot in front of a few garden acres which had been her delight to cultivate during her earlier years, but now for years overgrown with sweet balsams. This little plot had been consecrated as the burial-place of pioneers many, many years previous to 1852, and was made more sacred as the last resting-place of all that was mortal of one who was a noble heroine, and with all the attributes of the kindest mother." Sarah Haines wass the daughter of a UEL but Thomas Otway Page was not really one himself - arriving too late for the Revolution. If somebody out there is related to this family - we need to hear from you!
