    1. Re: [PAGE] John Wesley Page/Kentucky
    2. George W. Page
    3. There was a John W. Page, b. 1835 in (Adair Co.?) KY that may be your John Wesley Page! The age and location seem to fit. John W. Page was the eldest known son of William Washington Page (b. 25 Nov. 1809 in Nelson Co., VA - d. 27 May 1877 in Adair Co. , KY and buried in City Cem. Adair Co., KY. I believe Adair Co. was formed in 1802 from Green Co.) and his wife Sophia Brawer, b. 1811. William was the son of Nicholas Page (b. 1 July 1780 - d. 16 Feb. 1817 in Adair Co.) and his wife Nancy (Ann D.) Smith (b.c. 1776 in VA - d.c. 1855 in VA) who were m. 3 Nov. 1803 or 1804 in Amherst Co., VA. Nancy was the daughter of William Smith. Nicholas Page was the son of Robert Page (b. 17 Sep 1743 in Albermarle Co., VA - d. 29 Aug. 1817 in Adair Co., KY) and his wife Mary Jane Murrell "Jennie" (b. 29 Aug. 1748 in VA - d. 2 Dec. 1831 in Adair Co., KY) who were m. 6 Dec. 1765. Both are buried in the Robert Page Sr. Cem. in Cane Valley, Adair Co., KY. [Brockman Family Bible of Mrs. Max Page Texas that emigrated from Barren Co., KY around 1815 and established Pageville, KY as cited in the KY section of a two volume book, CAROLINA PAGES by Robert E. Page III. ] John Wesley was no doubt named for the famed John Wesley who was instrumental in the Methodist Church. This is NOT my line of Pages and I have no further info on this line! George W. 1. [PAGE] John Wesley Page/Kentucky
    2. Hello I am passing on this information in the hopes of finding more relatives and information on our family tree. Queen Victoria Page was the daughter of John Wesley Page and was born in Graves County, Kentucky on August 20, 1874. She was the 17th of the 18 children of Mr. Page and his second wife. His first wife Mary Ann Elnora Snowden had born the first nine before her death. Queenie married Lee Anderson McClanahan and bore him 5 daughers, Nola Lee, Ruby Pearl, Maude Adelle, Marion Alice and Mary Lee. Ten days after the birth of Mary, Lee contracted appendicitus and died. Several years later, she would remarry John Yarbrough. He was known to the girls as "Big Papa". John Yarbrough died about 1953, according to family sources. Queen Victoria died on March 31, 1958 and is buried in the Woodville Kentucky Cemetery. The family home was near Lovelaceville, Kentucky on the Ballard and McCracken County Line. At one point after Lee's death, the house burned and Queenie lived under a taurpaline while the house was being rebuilt by her son-in-law William Eaker, who was a carpenter by trade. Because of his diminutive size, he was known as Uncle Peck by the family. Her granddaughters, Elizabeth Elrod stayed with her during this time and related this story to Gary Pace. The only known photograph of Lee McClanahan was saved from the fire and is in the possession of a second cousin. Gilbert Elrod, his grandfather, gave Gary Pace a hand saw that he said belonged to Lee McClanahan. Thomas W. Rogers 924 E. Mahalo and take care , Kevin > Kevin: Are you familiar with "The Family of John Page of Haverhill, Mass" by Case and Sanderson? That reference has Reuben as a dead end and descended from John, Onesiphorus, and John. Reuben and his siblings were all born in Epping. He had a younger brother Moses. If you don't have this book, I can give you more information. Steve

    3. My grandfather died bach in 1993 and for some reason, my father never was notified about his death and burial until after it was done. So in my initial family research, I approached my father's half-sister on some information about my grandfather at least 3x. I even approached her children but they only gave me jokes. Well, I have found out that the reason why my father was not notified of the death/burial and they're not giving me info on my grandfather's death is because they didn't want to receive anything from his will. I don't have concrete proof yet but my question is, what do I do about this? What exact proof do I really need? 3. I am having a very difficult time with this family and I'm hoping to find someone else researching this line or someone that can assist me to research them. In the 1881 census, Isaac, born in Hillington, Norfolk, is listed as living at 18 St. Hilda's Terrace in York, with his wife Mary E. and (I'm assuming)my great grandmother Martha Hannah (Mary H. on the census). In the 1851 census, I have what I believe to be Isaac's parents living in Freebridge Lynn, Hillington, Norfolk. His father is James Page, born 1812 in Hillington and his wife is Martha. Isaac was 16 at the time of the census. In the 1871 census, Isaac was living at Back Street, Skinningrove, N. Yorks. He had a son Isaac (Ike) that was a missionary for the China Inland Missions Company and he retired to Ontario and is buried in Paris, Ontario. He had no children. What I'm hoping for is more information to fill this out abit. Does anyone have access to the 1841 census or to parish records to check out Isaac's family? My great grandmother, Martha, was a devout Primitive Methodist. I'm assuming her family was too. Do they keep records and if so, how does one access them? I have hit the wall with this family and can seem to get no further than the above information on them and I've been chasing them for over a year!! Any added information would be VERY gratefully accepted. Sincerely, Shirley Alberta, Canada

    3. Bill, I'm not sure if we are connected, but it could be a possibly. The Joseph Wilson Page (2nd generation) I have found both the name Joseph and Josiah used. In fact, when he is listed as a Confederate soldier, he is listed as Josiah W. Page, 38th Cavalry Company K, Mississippi. But in a newspaper clipping I found looking up his death, I found him listed as Joseph W. Page. Joseph and Josiah are both family names. My brother 's middle name is Joseph. My uncle's Josiah. I have been unable to get past North Carolina, or find the path from North Carolina to Mississippi. They probably did come through Georgia. So, there may be some connection. Hope we can find it.
