You have been misinformed as to the PAIGE version being French. The two British versions of the name PAGE/PAIGE are widely seen and used, but the PAIGE less often. I have a portion of my line that used Paige because a wife of a Page preferred the PAIGE spelling because it seemed more correct to her! She named all of their children PAIGE and it remained so in successive generations. In the 1495 will of one of my ancestors, Thomas Page, he uses both spellings in the same document! Their is a very famous immigrant to MA, Nathanial Page, who changed the spelling of his name to PAIGE when he arrived c. 1675 (some records state 1684). My research indicates that his family roots were in county Devon, Eng. NOT county Middlesex as claimed by Charles Nash Page in 1917/8. He had two surviving sons who spelled their name PAIGE: Coronet Nathaniel Paige; and, Christopher Paige. Both of them had Paige descendants, but Nathaniel Paige also had PAGE descendants. Hello fellow Page researchers. My line of Page descent is from George Page of Branford, Conn. (immigrated from Shorne, Kent, Eng. c. 1662) who I have researched for many years now having first corresponded with Edith Moyer Page (1977 author of "George Page of Branford, Conn. and Some of His Descendants") and Margery Page Vance. I have Margery's Page records which she shared with me several years ago before she died in 1989. For about 20 years I have been actively pursuing the English ancestors of the immigrant George Page of Branford, which resulted in a book: "The Descendants of Robart Page of the King's House- The Probable English Origins, Ancestors, and Relatives of George Page of Branford Connecticut and Thomas Page of Saco in the Province of Maine" written and published by me in 1992. Further research resulted in an addendum to this book. Currently I have identified over 4000 Page descendants of George Page of Branford, and more are being identified each day. I am always interested in finding additional descendants of this emigrant Page ancestor and sharing info. Descendants of George Page of Branford remain in the New Haven, CT area, but most migrated c. 1790 to Greene Co., NY, thence to Oneida, Madison, Otsego, Chenango, Broome, Livingston, and Yates counties in upstate NY. Further migrations over the years took the Page families to Ohio, Michigan, Missouri, and all points west. If your Page ancestor came from CT or upstate NY there is a very good possibility you are descended from this emigrant Page ancestor. Page Rol call. My only knowledge og my great grandmother for certain is her name, ELIZABETH "Lizzie" PAGE. We think she was born1882 in Huntsville,madison Co., AL. I'm searching for information on Nathan Page, b. 1767 in Danvers, Mass and d. 1829 most likely in Parke Co., Indiana. He was the son of Jeremiah Page of the Boston Tea Party fame. Nathan marries Rebecca Jackson (where and when unknown) and has (at least) two children, daughters Nancy and Elizabeth who marry Cornelius and John Jr. Sunderland. Hi Pat, Normally I'd answer a question like this privately, but I thought there might be other AOL users who could benefit from the answer, too. AOL used to keep "unread" mail (or mail you've marked as unread to save it) for about four weeks. I suspect they may have shortened that a bit recently because I've lost a couple of messages myself in the past few weeks. (I tend to keep them active as a way of reminding myself that they still need action of some sort, and I'm way behind on dealing with them.) If you're traveling and want to make sure you won't lose important messages, try forwarding them to yourself every couple of weeks. I've never checked to see if attachments will forward that way, but at least you'd have the address of the person who sent you something so you could write to them when you get home and ask that it be sent again. I have been away for about three weeks during which time someone sent me a message with an attachment re the above couple, however I "kept as new" the message until I returned home to open it and now it is no longer there. The parents of John Wesley Page were Jesse William Page (b. 21 Dec. 1818 in IN - d. 4 Nov. 1891 in Platte Co., MO) & Emily Green Plummer (b. 4 Nov. 1822 in Fleming Co., KY the dau. of George Plummer & Hannah Seeven - d. 11 Sep. 1917 in Buchanan Co., MO). They were m. 11 June 1830 in Flemingsburg (Fleming Co., KY). Jesse William Page was the son of William Page, (b.c. 1764 in Goochland Co., VA - d. 1860 in Platte Co., MO). [Source: Patricia K.
