Hi all! I have been lurking as I don't see many Pages from Va where they first started (except those for Northern folk. This is my only Southern family so I get to act like one now) I'm really a Calif. Yankee transplanted to NM. Anyway is there anyone else out there doing research on the George Pages of Markham, Farquier Co. VA? He died there in 1822. That's as far back as I can get. There may be a contection to the Baylor family but haven't found it yet. My "Brick Wall" is the parents of David Page, listed in the 1830 & 1840 Census in Rabun Co., GA. He appears in the 1850 Census in Benton Co., AL and moves to Madison Co. AR by the 1860 Census. From "Places of Birth" of Father & Mothers in the 1880 Census there are some children that say he was from North Carolina and some say South Carolina. My brickwall is Charles Page of Rockingham County in New Hampshire. Charles was probably born in Strafford County possibly in Barrington or Farmington about 1820. He could be the son of Reuben, who could be the son of Reuben or Moses. Charles moved to Epping and married Lucy Tilton in 1843. He enlisted in the 2nd NH Vol. Infantry and died in Va. in 1864. My hunt is for Isaac Page who lived in Yorkshire and was a deputy in an ironstone mine in 1899. He was married to Mary ? and their children were Harry, Isaac (Ike), married to Maggie, a missionary for the China Inland Missions who lived in Ontario, Canada and is buried in Paris, Ontario, and Martha Hannah married to Thomas Hogarth Wedgwood in 1899. I have found them in the 1881 census at St. Hilda's Terrace, Lofthouse. I believe he was born in Hillington, Norfolk but that is just a guess. My Page line of descent is from Joseph Page (b ca 1741, d abt 1820) of Upper Freehold. Monmouth County, NJ and later Fayette County PA. I would love to find out who his parents were and where he came from. There were several other Page's listed in the tax records from 1779-1785 in Upper Freehold, and I am unsure of the connection to Joseph, however, might represent relatives - Charles, David, Enoch, James, John, and Francis (very common middle name in this line). Joseph Page Sr had at least 6 sons: Timothy, Jonathan, Joseph Jr, Samuel, William and John. Some descendants stayed in NJ, particullary Toms River NJ (Timothy's line), while others moved to Fayette County, PA and then later on to parts of Ohio, Indiana, Eastern Kansas, IL, and points farther West.
