Is the Hawbaker Field Cemetery easy to find and assessable ? What village would it be close to ? For those researching persons buried at Hawbaker Field Cemetery, you may be interested to know that there is a cemetery transcription available online at the following URL: _http://www.interment.net/data/us/pa/franklin/hawbecker/index.htm_ (http://www.interment.net/data/us/pa/franklin/hawbecker/index.htm) Please note that the transcriber has given the latitude and longitude description as: Lat: 39° 49' 00"N, Lon: 77° 48' 39"W I hope that will help you locate it. Should anyone be making a trip there, I would love a digital photo of the following stones for my family: Gipe, Elizabeth, d. Sep 18, 1850, age 8mn and 22da, d/o George and Elizabeth Gipe, George, b. Aug 24, 1852, d. Nov 16, 1853, age 1yr 2mn 16da, s/o George and Elizabeth It is my understanding that this is a fairly small cemetery. At one time I played around with the names of those buried there and found some possible family connections. For example, the children listed above are believed to be the children of George and Elizabeth (Barncord) GIPE. The following child: Hawbecker, Catherine, d. Aug 10, 1853, age 10mn and 11da, d/o Jacob and Catherine is believed to be the daughter of Jacob HAWBECKER and Catherine KUHN. Catherine KUHN is the sibling of Isaac KUHN who was married to Mary (Polly) BARNCORD, sister of the Elizabeth (Barncord) GIPE above. Therefore, if this supposition is correct and these families are connected, there is a possibility that others located in this cemetery are related as well. If, after taking a look at the transcription anyone notices any further family connections, I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts. Shelly
