    3. Don't know if or how this may be connected but will throw it in here for possible clues: William Beatty (1738-1802 Antrim Twp) married Mary Johnston (1746-1817) daughter of James Johnston and Mary Brown Findley, pioneers of Antrim twp (From American Revolutionary Soldiers of Franklin Co and Franklin Co will abstracts). William and Mary had a son John, born c1770, who married Elizabeth Campbell, born c1775 'near Mercersburg'. Elizabeth Campbell was the daughter of Dugal Campbell (d Jan 1777 Camden NJ in the Rev War) and his wife Martha Johnston, (c1751-p1808) sister of Mary. Thomas Johnston (1744-1819 Antrim), also a child of James Johnston Sr and Mary Brown Findley, married Martha Beatty ( p1740- 1819 Antrim twp). William Beatty was the son of Henry Beatty who died 1771-1772 in Antrim Twp, wife Catherine, and children William, James, Walter, John, Henry, Elizabeth and Margaret according to the abstract by F. Edward Wright. I believe that this daughter Margaret MAY be a transcription error for Martha as James Johnston and Thomas Johnston were the witnesses to the will. (Cumberland Co Will book B, pp 128-9.) This is all rather confusing with the cousins intermarrying, but it helps if you chart it out. Note: Dugal Campbell was the son of William Campbell, Sr (died 1783 Peters Twp) and his wife Francis. One of my husband's direct Campbell lines is William Campbell Jr (c1803 Fannett Twp) who married Hannah Young in 1766. ----- Original Message ----- From: "gordon crooks" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, October 18, 2006 7:19 AM Subject: [PAFRANKL] Campbell's > After reading all of the Campbell msgs. it made me think.
