    1. Re: [PAFRANKL] cemetery lookup Franklin Co, PA - Seavolt
    2. Nance, My ancestor, Christian Study (Stuty) was the minister at the Little Cove Church. His home (what is left of it) is next to the cemetery. I don't have a complete list of the burials. The church is sometimes called Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church near Sylvn. baptisms - William Sewalt born March 17, 1835, baptized April 30, 1836 - parents Jacob and Lydia - sponsor is the mother Benjamin Franklin Sewalt born August 22, 1836, baptized April 2, 1837 to Jacob and Lydia, sponsor - mother. According to the "History of Little Cove" by Harry Foreman 1967 - "The Seavolt (Sewalt) family lived behind present Forney Ridge. The Martin Seavolt place is currently part of the Etta Zimmerman land and really came off the Zimmerman land. Martin Seavolt was married to Martha Swend, daughter of Casper Swend. The Seavolt place was between the two Zimmerman places and came off the Swend land. NOTE: There may have been a Martin and Nancy Seavolt also. Martin Seavolt's name is on the 1806 Stone Church Roll with the Swends. He owned 123 acres in 1823 which seems to be present Etta Zimmerman land. Two sons of Martin are mentioned, John who was born in 1849 and Samuel, who was born in 1839. Joan and Sarah Seavolt and Jacob and Lydia Seavolt sold their land in the Little Cove to William Bowers in 1835. I was interested that the Seavolts married into the Swend family. Swend is also listed as Swank. The Swank family was close friends with my Study family. If you ever run across some information on the Study family - let me know. Linda
