Dear Linda Thank you so much for your assistance. The information you sent added some info and confirmed some other info I have found. That baptism for William confirmed that the mother was Lydia though most records list her as Catherine. The rest of this email deals with other family names and might be boring to you. So far I have not run into your family name. I do have that my Jacob had one and possibly two illegitimate children with Susanna Houck after Catherine died. I have also wondered if they were part of the Brethren community at one time and switch to the Lutheran church. Some of the Houck's stayed with the Brethren. Some of Jacob's daughter's families migrated to IL with the group of the Brethrens in 1854-1855. I list Martin Seavolt as Jacob's brother and list his wife as Martha Swed. But that was all I have found on Martin's family. I have some info on Martin such as the 1820 census, 1817 land in Franklin Co. One family tree lists him as Jacob's father but according to papers at the Franklin County Historical Society the father was named Cyrus and his sons were Mathias, Jacob, Henry and Martin and a sister. Mathias supposedly settled in Big Cove Tannery. They supposedly came to PA around 1780 but it could be later and closer to 1790s. (Also, I see there is a Gabriel Swend in that area and could be Martha's brother or other relative. I have not confirming info on that.) If this is the case my Jacob, husband of Lydia Catherine whose birth year is 1793 would have been born in the US and not Holland. I found no other information on Cyrus. Besides the mentioned sons there are two girls, Mary and Sarah. Some listed one of these girls father's as Jacob. Based on their birth dates they would have had to be siblings on my Jacob. So if they are siblings it would indicate Cyrus was named Jacob or the son's Martin or Henry were also named Jacob and they would be his daughters. I throw all this out there in case there is other information such as baptisms for children of any of the brothers. I do know that Mathias had two sons that went to OH and I have traced most of their families. Mary married James Edminson and Sarah married John Souder. Souders lived near the Seavolts in 1820. Also one of Mathias' sons, John, married Anna Zimmerman whose father was John Zimmerman. On the 1850 census Jacob Seavolt's son, Daniel was living with a Michael Zimmerman family in Franklin Co. I am trying to do all the primary Seavolt families. It seems to help to see how people connect and also to sort through those with the same names to get them in the right branch. Someone from the list also sent info that Lydia Catherine Miller might be the daughter of a George Miller who lived near the Seavolts. There are many Miller families in that area but nothing really confirms what family Lydia came from. I would love to vist Franklin, Fulton and Bedford county. It sounds like a lovely area. Yet, circumstances keep me in IL for now. Again, thanks for your help and I am going to look through some of the info you sent more closely for further leads.
