    3. Don, have you connected your Tallmans to any that were in Franklin County? ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, September 21, 2006 8:36 AM Subject: Re: [PAFRANKL] Old Obituary Lookup? > Thank you Glenn. > > Yes, John Stouffer and Hannah Price are well-documented in the 1926 George Wanger book "Descendants of Rev. I think he went over to the Dunkers when he married Hannah Price, who was from that denomination. So their children were undoubtedly raised in the Dunker church. That makes me suspect that the two Smith men who married Elizabeth and Hannah may themselves have been of German background -- perhaps they were born Schmidts or something like that. William and Elizabeth later converted to United Brethren before or shortly after they migrated to Carroll County, Illinois. As far as I can tell, George and Hannah remained with the Dunkers -- they lived in Guilford Township and are reportedly buried at Marion. Because the German Baptists believe in adult baptism, there's not likely any early records of infant christenings, like you can find with Lutherans. > > Anyway, thank you for replying -- I appreciate the response. > > Don > > Donald L. 1. Re: [PAFRANKL] Tallman
    2. Hi Bonny, No, I didn't actually know there were any Tallmans in Franklin County! Do you suppose they came over from Berks -- I know there were Tallmans in Berks County at one point, although some or all of them migrated down to Rockingham County, VA before heading west to Ohio and on out to Iowa. Tell me more -- are you a Tallman descendant? Don Donald L.
