Hi Joyce and list, According to my native-language German husband: "'Die Traung hat im Hause, Namlich seinem eigenem Stadt gefunden' means 'the marriage took place in the home, namely, his own.' "The German lost something somewhere. Correctly written, it should be 'Die Trauung hat im Hause, nämlich seinem eigenen, statt gefunden.' The use of 'stadt' instead of 'statt' is old usage and, therefore, probably correct in the context. I have written it how it would be written, capitalized and spelled today." Hope that helps.
