    3. Hello Willie, I have a book by the title of "History of The Church of the Brethren in Southern District of Pennyslvania." It was first published in 1941 and reprinted in 1966. Do you have any other names than Knepper to look up? There is one Knepper family that I know of that attends the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren. Their daughter, Phyllis Kegerreis, goes to the same Brethren church that I do. I will connect with her. Also, something to consider is that a significant number of Brethren settled in Franklin County, Virginia in the mid 1700's! "The Old German Baptist Brethren" by Charles D. Thompson, Jr was just published in 2006 and has tons of names and history. 3. HI I was searching Rev Coursey who pastored for about two years at the United Brethern church in Franklin County. My ggg grandfather sold his property to Rev. Coursey. I was hoping to find the location. thanks On Sep 14, 2006, at 7:48 PM, Linda Gorman wrote: > Hello Willie, I have a book by the title of "History of The Church > of the > Brethren in Southern District of Pennyslvania." 3. I'm still catching up on e-mail from last week.. >From: "Linda Gorman" <[email protected]> >Date: Thu, 14 Sep 2006 19:48:31 -0400 > >Hello Willie, I have a book by the title of "History of The Church of the >Brethren in Southern District of Pennyslvania." It was first published in >1941 and reprinted in 1966. I'm finally able to look at my notes at home. I thought that this was the same book that I found at the Kensington, MD Family History Center. But the one I found was "History of the Church of the Brethren of the *Eastern* District of Pennsylvania," copyright in 1915. I copied the information on Alexander Mack, since my ancestor, Wilhelmus Knepper, was one of his associates. Mack stayed in Germantown, PA, while Wilhelmus and his family moved a bit further west, into south-central PA. >Do you have any other names than Knepper to >look up? The names that I *didn't* expect to see on the registry for the ship "Allen" were Jorik and Anna Margaret Hoffert and their children. I'm fairly certain they're part of my Creager (Mom's maiden name) ancestors; the Kneppers are part of my Baker (grandmother Creager's maiden name) line. From the little bit I've found so far, the Hofferts settled in Frederick County, so I doubt they'd be listed in any of the Pennsylvania books. I guess I'll have to search for similar CoB histories for Maryland. >There is one Knepper family that I know of that attends the >Waynesboro Church of the Brethren. My aunt "Jenny," Virginia Creager Stover, and her husband "Shorty" (Darwin) attend there. My cousin, Lee Carson, was active in the music ministry there until her death about two or three years ago. >Also, >something to consider is that a significant number of Brethren settled in >Franklin County, Virginia in the mid 1700's! I'll definitely keep that in mind, thanks. So far, I've only found folks in PA and MD, but you never know! "The Old German Baptist >Brethren" by Charles D. Thompson, Jr was just published in 2006 and has >tons >of names and history. Thanks, Linda! I'll have to look for that one. Peace, Willie
