I belong to several U.K. web sites and on one of them in Scotland there is mention of the SHANKS family who appear to be Presbyterians and have living ancestor still in the area. My question is were the Franklin County Shanks of Scotish or German origin? I know that they are Old Order River Brethren which is of German origin, so are these two separate family groups or related? Gordon Crooks
