Hello, There were numerous pockets of Hessians that remained in the states after the war. Upper Dauphin County had a bunch as well as Frederick County, MD. I'm not sure about Franklin County, PA. My wife is direct descendant of Johannes Schwalm. There is some information about Hessian soldiers on the Johannes Schwalm Historical Association web site: _http://pages.prodigy.net/halschwalm/jshahome.html_ (http://pages.prodigy.net/halschwalm/jshahome.html) I have the original book published by the association that has the rosters of many of the Hessians and what units they were assigned.
