This was sent to me by a cousin who lives in the South in the mountains, we are both related to Joseph Crunkleton one of the original 8 settlers in Franklin Co.in 1729. The pioneer spirit is alive and well. She is referring to the recent snow storm which hit the South and Eastern sections of the country. Gordon Crooks Icy/Snow blessings in no particular order :-) 1 blessing) Beautiful snow/ice we've got here huh? Something pretty to look at and mesmerize over! Our power went out about 3:00 I think Saturday morning the first time. 2 blessing) But we have a wood heater so we stayed warm. 3 blessing) It came back on around 8 am Sat morning long enough for some of us to get a shower and dry some clothes ..maybe an hour. Then I reckon trees started breaking everywhere cuz it went back out and that was it. 4 blessing) None of them trees fell on our house although a good size branch did fall and hit Steves metal shed on the corner. 5 blessing) that branch will be good kindling for the fire when it dries out :-P 6 blessing) For the most part the roads stayed pretty good thanks to Salting and sand the county kept putting out there. 7 blessing) All the kids made it home safe from school and work Friday before it all got super bad near 11-12 pm Friday night. 8 blessing) Josh and Jess made it to and from work Saturday and Saturday night safely 9 blessing) We finally got power back last night about 9:00. We had it two other times yesterday for about 30 mins or so each time. 10 blessing) cuz of them 2 - 30 minutes time slots we had power the rest of us got our showers and I had time to make some biscuits and bacon . We were getting HONGRY ! :-P ha ha ha...... and I had time to heat up some water to wash dishes. 11 blessing) While Josh and Jessica were at work .....Steve and Jeremi and I had plenty of time to learn a new game Jeremi likes and played it with him for a couple hours or so. GOOD FAMILY TIME !!! 12 blessing) We had kerosene lamps, candles, flash lights, board games and amusing animals ! I'm sure there are more than 12 blessings that came from this little icy / snow storm we had. But I wanted to recognize the ones right off the top of my head. GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME......ALL THE TIME GOD IS GOOD !
