    1. [PAFRANKL] Moorhead & Other Families in Franklin, Cumberland, Westmoreland, Indiana Co., PA

    3. I have prepared a several-page note as to where I believe in Northern Ireland, and previously in Scotland, the families of immigrants John Moorhead (Washington Twp, Franklin Co, PA) and Samuel Moorhead (Hamilton Twp, Franklin Co, PA) likely immigrated from. Both of these families were formerly in Cumberland County and Lancaster County before the counties were split. As with any theories such as mine, my thoughts are subject to debate by those who have other ideas. I have outlined the bases for my thoughts, but would certainly like to discuss the issue with any others interested in these families.. I have also tried to tie in the Beatty and Johnston families of the Sugar Grove area, Antrim Twp, Franklin Co, PA to the story of John and Samuel Moorhead. Descendents of all three of these families were later found in the PA counties of Westmoreland, Indiana, Armstrong, and/or Allegheny, and other areas. To view my thoughts online, please go to my web page www.paul-n-paul.com. Near the top of the home page, centered, are the words "Two Moorhead Families of Franklin Co., PA" Please click on this link, it will take you to my writeup. I feel our Moorheads immigrated from the Ballymena Estate, Ahoghill Parish, County Antrim, and before that, from the lowland area around Stranaer, Scotland. Again, I would like to discuss my thoughts with others. Please, if interested, read my information. By the way, these thoughts can also apply to certain other Franklin County, PA, immigrant families. Thanks to Gordon Crooks for steering me in what seems to be the right direction. Paul
