    1. [PAFRANKL] Fickes/Rudisill in Franklin Co

    3. I am researching the Fickes family of Shippensburg, PA. John and Mary Elizabeth Rudisill Fickes had at least 3 daughters who were baptized/confirmed at the Memorial Lutheran Church in Shippensburg from 1807 to 1810. They had other children later. I believe Mary Elizabeth Rudisill was the daughter of Baltzer and Elizabeth Rudisill (Rudysill, Reutisille) who were the sponsors of the girls' baptisms. I have found a John Fickes in Lurgan, Franklin Co. PA in the 1810 census. This could be the same John Fickes family in Shippensburg. Does anyone have any information about him? There is another John Fickes (b. 1815) in Guilford in 1860, but he is not my John Fickes because mine left PA by 1823. My John Fickes had daughters Leah, Sarah, Elizabeth and Salome. He had a son named John, b. 1815 (but again, not the John in Guilford who was born the same year). He also had sons named Jacob and George who were born in PA, but I don't know which county. George may have been born in Mifflin Co. Is anyone familiar with this family? I am trying to go back further on this line. Any information or suggestions with piecing this family together would be greatly appreciated! Linnea
