Help. I've hit a brick wall! My John T. Smith was born in either in Pennsylvania or New York on November 28, 1821. He left home around 1836-1842 and came to Illinois where he lived in Victoria, Knox County, Illinois for several years. He moved to the Knoxville, Knox County area where he married Antoinette Pratt in 1852 and had 3 children, and married Lovisa Allen in 1866 and had 3 more children. He died in the Knoxville on November 23, 1901. I'm looking for any parent or sibling information. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I have found 3 of this children's marriage and death records, as well as his second wife's and they do not tell me where he came from. His obituary says Pennsylvania, but the census records list NY. I have not been able to come up with a death certificate for him as of yet. Does anyone know of any other way to access any additional information or is this the end of my line! Thanks again.
