    3. Hi all. I'm new to the list, and I've sort of been reading and trying to think how I could be helpful. Two recent queries, one on Parnell's Knob to Burnt Creek, and the other mentioning the Biographical Annals of Franklin County, set me wondering if people forget how easy it is to access the catalog of the Library of Congress (//catalog.loc.gov/)? And what a goldmine of information can be found there? For example, I searched for the title of Parnell's Knob to Burnt Creek, couldn't find it, so searched under the subject Franklin County (Pa.) History and came up with it almost immediately. It is Harry E. Foreman, Forbes Road: Parnell's Knob to Burnt Cabins. Chambersburg, PA: H.E. Foreman, 1954. 94 pp.: ill. maps 23 cm. The Chambersburg library might well have a copy, or possibly the Kittochtinny Historical Society. The Biographical annals were apparently first publshed in 1905, then reissued in 1978. The library has recently revised the catalog search format and for some reason no longer gives the ISBN number, just its own internal numbering system, but knowing this much should be enough that your local library might be able to get it for you on interlibrary loan, though often the libraries holding the few copies of such books don't let them circultate. But sometimes those libraries will do simple look-ups and Xerox pages. I also found a listing of seven old newspapers under the subject heading Franklin County (Pa.) History (Newspaper). The library also has a site that apparently will let you search the catalogs of other libraries, though I'm not sure of that as I haven't tried it yet. Hope this is helpful. Judy Hall
