    3. The full info for this book is "Biographical Annals of Franklin County Pennsylvania" published by Gen. Pub. of Chicago in 1905. 706 pp, No author given. The intro credits Mr. George O. Seilhammer with much of the information. It appears to have been a 'mug book' done in the style of the time with persons paying to submit information about their families, just as recent county histories were done during the bicentennial. Some of the information is very good with lots of dates and places while other families seem to have submitted the 'three brothers' stories. Other information is just plain incorrect, e.g. my husband's Skinners (p235, family of William Wilson Skinner and Mary Ann Ramsey). The dates and the list of children do not match either our family Bible or the census records. Another researcher tells me that this book was reprinted by Genealogical Publishing (now of Baltimore) about 1986. The new edition has an index. This company has its own website. Here is the specific address for PA books: (I have no connection to this company, but do use their resources.) http://www.genealogybookshop.com/genealogybookshop/files/The_United_States,P ennsylvania/index.html I checked under "Franklin County" but did not find the reprint edition, it may be out of print by now, or another company may have done the reprint. -----Original Message----- From: dmdmd <mldunn@bellsouth.net> To: PAFRANKL-L@rootsweb.com <PAFRANKL-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Sunday, September 05, 1999 10:52 PM Subject: [PAFRANKL] Bio Annals of Franklin co. >Hi, > I must have missed the first post regarding the Annals of Franklin >co...does anyone know who the author is and whether this is still in >print?
