    1. [PAFRANKL] 1778 Tax List - Update #2
    2. Last night it occurred to me that I had no idea where Derry Township was. When I discovered its approximate location I decided to study all of the townships that are listed on the map. I knew Cumberland was bigger in 1778, but not that big!! It included all of Juniata and most of Mifflin Counties as well. I probably should have broadcast to these lists, and I apologize for my lack of knowledge. Anyway, for those of you who have received information, I put together the list of Townships and their approximate locations in present day county boundaries. Kathy Allen - southeast Cumberland Antrim - southern Franklin Armagh - northern Mifflin East Pennsboro - northeast Cumberland Fannett - northern Franklin Fermanagh - northern Juniata Greenwood - part of north Perry and north Juniata Guilford - southeast Franklin Hamilton - central Franklin, south of Letterkenny Hopewell - west Cumberland Lack - south Juniata and Mifflin Letterkenny - central west Franklin Lurgan - central east Franklin Middleton - central Cumberland, between the Pennsboros Milford - central Juniata Newton - northwest Cumberland Peters - southwest Franklin Rye - east Perry, between Greenwood and Tyrone Toboyne (spelled Teboyne) - west Perry Tyrone - central Perry West Pennsboro - central Cumberland, between Hopewell and Middleton Carlisle - same Cumberland borough
