Friends and relations, Jane Ellen MELL(1848-1925) m. George K. DUKE, 19 May 1869 at the M.E. Church in Shippensburg. They had three children, George DUKE, Nellie DUKE(m. MILLER) and another girl whose name I do not know(m. SALTSMAN). Nellie was living in Chambersburg in 1925 according to Jane's obit. There was also a grandaughter, Miss Ruth DUKE who was a teacher in the Normal School. Jane Ellen MELL was a sister of my ggrandmother, Mary Elizabeth MELL HAWK. Does anybody out there have a connection, family records etc? I have copies of obits and a letter written by Ruth to a cousin in MA at the time of Jane's death. Also have family record pages from a MELL-HAWK family bible, and memorabilia which was kept between its pages. -- Bill Hawk
