I hope someone out there will be able to help me - I have really hit a brick wall. I'm pretty sure I found my ggrandfather in Franklin Co. in 1850. On the 1850 census, William Heffelfinger (Hefflefinger) is listed as 2 years old, living with Catherine Stouffer, age 70. The township looks like Greene. In the 1860 census, he is listed as living with the family of Christian Stouffer, age 40. I have been unable to locate a birthdate, (except on the census - June 1848), or a death date. My grandmother was born in California in 1878. Before William Heffelfinger was married to my great grandmother, he was married to Hannah Fowler. If you have any ideas of how to find information about his parents, or connection with the Stouffers, I would really be happy. Thanks very much for any information or advice. Candice
