    1. [PAFRANKL] Re: [ALL] Roll Call: Neely, Wright, Willoughby, Richey, Glancy, Foster
    2. John, For some reason your name looks familiar to me. I am not sure if I have corresponded with you in the past, and if so, please excuse the repetition. My 2nd Gr-Grm, Nancy nee WRIGHT THOMSON, was born abt. 1776, possibly in the Cumberland/Franklin Co., PA area. She married my 2nd Gr-GRf, James THOMSON, b. 1772, Cumberland/Franklin Co., PA, d. ca. 1845-48, Ross Twp., Allegheny Co., PA. I am searching for Nancy's parents and siblings. According to a 44 pp. typescript on LDS microfiche # 6018156, of which I have a copy, titled <<"FAMILY AND DESCENDANTS OF ALEXANDER AND ELIZABETH THOMSON", by Andrew Watson Pentland, Abt. 1902-1903>>, Nancy was born abt. 1776, and was from Pine Twp., Allegheny Co., PA. This couple's 7th and last known child, my Gr-Grf, Robert THOMSON (1815--1883) was born in Allegheny Co., PA. James married a second time to a Margaret PEEBLES sometime abt. 1823, as this couple had a son, William Peebles THOMSON, b. 1824, Allegheny Co., PA. From this data I am *assuming* that Nancy WRIGHT died ca. 1815--1823. No place of burial known for her. I also have information from the "Cumberland County Will Abstracts", by Edward Wright (do not know if this person is related), of a James WRIGHT, Peters Twp. His will written 13 Mar 1760, and recorded Jan 1763, in which a Wife: Agnes, Only son: John WRIGHT, Overseer: John McDowell, and Witnesses: John McDowell, John Cunningham are named. This information contained in Vol. A., p. 102. I am wondering if the "Only son" John *could* be the father of my Nancy WRIGHT. Any thoughts or information you could supply would be greatly appreciated in helping to solve this puzzle. Thank you for your time. One lived in Robinson Township (S of the Ohio River and W of Pittsburgh) and the other lived in Pine Township (N of the Ohio River and W of Pittsburgh). They lived about thirty miles apart but were separated by the river. I am descended from the Pine Twp. Samuel Neely. He was born 1759 in Ireland and died February 1829 in Pine, Allegheny, PA. I believe he came to America in the latter half of the 1790's based on the birth dates and locations of his children. His first wife died between 1800 and 1805. He remarried and had seven more children the last being born in 1830 after Samuel died. Some of his children married Wrights (2 daughters and a son), at least one Willoughby, at least one Richey and a Glancy. Samuel's son, Thomas (1817-1892), my ancestor, married Lucinda Glancy. They lived primarily on the North Side and had four children who married Dickey, Wilson, Bell, and Foster. The last is my ancestor. Thomas's son, John N. Neely (1850-1889), married Rose Anna Foster. Other families who are related are Rineer, Mason, Sloan and Shiel. I am interested in connecting to any of the descendants of any of these families. I am interested in any evidence of when Samuel Neely came to America. (The years just prior to 1800 seem to be short of information on arriving ships.) I will be happy to share what information I have. My web page below has much of what I have researched. I have not been actively engaged in my genealogy for the past year or so but I do monitor the Neely list and I will answer emails within a day or two. -- John Middleton, Leawood, Kansas Middleton, SCT>Liverpool, Eng>Chicago, IL, 1800-1920; Neely, IRL>PA, 1759-1900; Chid(d)ester, WV>OH, 1800-1900; Som(m)erville, Grasmere, Eng, 1700-1850 Web Page: http://www.planetkc.com/jmcpa >>
