Married to my 2nd Gr-Grf, James THOMSON, b. 1772, Cumberland/Franklin Co., PA>Allegheny Co., PA, 1807, d. ca. 1845-48, Ross Twp., Allegheny Co., PA. This couple's 7th and last known child, Robert THOMSON (1815--1883) was my Gr-Grf. I do know that James THOMSON had an older brother, William THOMSON, b. 1750, County of Renfrew, Scotland>America in 1771 with parents and siblings>Washington/Beaver Co., PA ca. 1785-1790, d. ca. 1822-25, Beaver Co., PA. William had a son, Alexander THOMSON, of Beaver Co., PA, married to one Jane McELHANEY. I find it interesting that you mention the surnames THOMPSON and McELHANEY in your post below.
