Can any one help? I recently petitioned for help from every county of PA and have found many helpful people. I need some more help now that I know where to look. I am looking for any information from county census or colonial census prior to 1788. I know there was no federal census until 1790 but have been informed there are county and colonial census. My 5 great grandfather JOHN JACOB KOPF was born in Lancaster Co., PA December 1766. His parents are CONRAD KOPF and MARIA MAGDALENE ?? KOPF. My 5 great grandfather has gone by the name Jacob with several spellings of the last name which include: Kopf, Kop, Kopp, Copp, Cop, Cup, Cupp, etc. Jacob was baptized at Cocalico Reformed Church, Ephrata, Lancaster Co., PA, a Lutheran (German) Church. I need look up in tax record, church records of like faith in your area, newspaper information, marriage look ups or just any kind of information I can get. I have been told Jacob may have had a brother or uncle called Abraham (Aham) or one called Volentine. CONRAD is said to have been in Chester Co., PA in 1756. I am also helping to try and connection three separate lines of Cupp therefore I would appreciate any or all Cupp information. Of special interest are information on Jacob or Conrad, siblings, parents, etc. Thanks you so very much for your help. I have been told there were Cupp's in all the counties I am sending this to.
