    1. Re: [PAFRANKL] Jacob North

    3. There is no mention of Jacob North in the everyname index to Franklin County wills 1784-1826. Nor in Pennsylvania Wills 1682-1834. by Broderbund I did find this will which may be a clue: Cumberland County Wills:(Pennsylvania Wills, 1682-1834) JORDAN, FRANCIS, farmer, Juniata. April 14, 1804. November 26, 1804. Wife Catherine. Sons Amos and John. Dau. Elizabeth North. Son Jeremiah Jordan. Exs.: Sons Amos Jordan and John Jordan. Wit.: Abigail North, James Beaty, Isaac Craven. G. 84-85. I was interested in your Tulpehocken to Franklin County migration as I have several families that did the same thing. Went back to check my Tulpehocken records but found nothing on a Jacob North, or any other Norths nor anyone of the surname Buckmyer in four volumes of Berks County Church records. I notice that you mention Lebanon County - checked there also but found nothing. Here is information about Christ Lutheran in Tulpehocken from F. Edward Wright's abstracts: "Church Records: Selected Areas of PA, 1600s-1800s" Berks County Churches XXXII. TULPEHOCKEN (Christ), Marion Township This Lutheran congregation was begun by those members of Reed's church who lost control of the property to the Moravians in 1742 and built their own church a mile away. Tobias Wagner dedicated the new church and began a register in 1743. Glatfelter states that "this is the congregation usually meant when one refers to the Tulpehocken church." [Note: Members of Reed/Reith family that founded this church also migrated to Franklin County. cks] Pastors: Tobias Wagner (1743-1746), Nicholas Kurtz (1746-1770, absent June 1763-June 1764), Emanuel Schultz (1771-1809). Location: Christ Church, 1/2 mile west of Stouchsburg. Records: A translation has been done by Frederick S. Weiser and published by the Pennsylvania German Society as "Records of Pastoral Acts at Christ Lutheran Church, Stouchsburg, Berks County, Pennylvania". There is also a Tulpehocken Church in Lebanon County, but no Norths in the records, and no baptisms between 1762 and 1765. Hope this doesn't discourage you, but at least it is a list of places checked with nothing found.
