Hi, I am looking for information on my third great grandfather, Peter Cushard. I would like to find his siblings and parents. I know he was born abt. 1800 in the Chambersburg area, and had a brother Henry born abt 1799 in the same area. He and his brother moved out of Franklin County in the 1830's to the Morrison's Cove area of Blair County. There they married and had several children. Peter was married to a Mary Horner, born about 1803. They had several children including my second great grandfather, Henry Cushard. After the Civil War, Peter, Henry and family settled in Phillipsburg, Centre County. There, Peter died on 7 Jan. 1889. I don't know when his wife died. I must think there are Cushards buried in the Chambersburg area cemeteries, and some information could be found. The only census information in the Chambersburg area is the 1850, and has an Elizabeth Cushard living by herself in the town. It is possible she is a relative, she was 63 years in 1850.
