    3. Benjamin is a very popular name in the Chambers family. Here is what I could find in Seilhammer's county history. Benjamin Chambers (4 Jan 1764 Chambersburg-27 Aug 1850 Saline County, MO) was the only son of James Chambers (5 Jun 1743 Falling Spring-25 Apr 1805 Loudon Forge, Franklin County, PA) and Katherine Hamilton (1737 County Tyrone, Ireland- 14 Jan 1820 Ludlow Station, now Cincinnati, OH). Benjamin married (1) Ruth McPherrin 27 Dec 1796. She was the daughter of Rev Thomas McPherrin of the Welsh Run Church. According to Virginia Fendrick, historian for the Franklin County chapter of the NSDAR, this Benjamin had only two children by his first marriage, one who died in infancy and the second 'was said to have lived in California.' Benjamin was one of the first surveyors of southeastern Indiana and the proprietor of Lawrenceburg after the failure of Vance. He moved to Missouri about 1820 where he lived the rest of his life. While living near Cincinnati he married 22 Jul 1801, Sarah Lawson Kemper (1780-22 Dec 1836) daughter of Rev James and Judith (Hathaway) Kemper. They had eleven children: 1. Ruth (1802-1814) 2. James Kemper (1804-1821) 3. Israel Ludlow (1806-1807) 4. Sarah Bella (1807-1867) married Dr. George Penn 5. Joseph (b and d 1810) 6. George Washington (1811-1829) 7. Benjamin (1813-1814) 8. Catherine Judith (b1815) married John Cockrill Pulliam 9. Susanna Mary (1816-1822) 10. Ludlow (1819-1852) no issue 11. John Hamilton (1821-1877) moved to California Lots more on the Chambers family in Seilhammer's history, pages 1-18. Sorry, but I can not make copies, my book is very fragile. I will send a text file of wills etc to anyone who can read Word 97. Carolyn -----Original Message----- From: K.
