Hi Everyone, A few people have contacted me about the results I received from my query on Revolutionary War Soldiers and where to find information on them. I hope they help! 1.) Daughter of the American Revolutionary War web site - http://www.dar.org/ 2.) DAR Library in Washington DC 3.) Finding pension records at the National Archives. You can request these by filling out a form. But, the more you know about when and where he served, the better. 4.) I suggest you contact: Cumberland County Historical Society, 21 North Pitt Street, Carlisle, PA 17013. There Web site is: http://www.historicalsociety.com 5.) Franklin County Rev War soldier book done by the local chapter of the NSDAR. 6.) DAR Patriot Index. If he is listed you can write for a set of application papers that someone filed to join the society on his service. 7.) "Genealogical Encyclopedia of the Colonial Americas" by Christina Schaefer It's $50.00, but can be found in the library via interlibrary loan. The book is set up by state, town, county and tells where each of the original records are kept, which include the churches. Bibliographically it is outstanding. Then the # of the film is given for whatever that you are looking for, your convenience and WHERE exactly the film can be located. (which is usually locally held) WHAT A BOOK!!!! ISBN # 0-8063-1576-8 8.) Check out the following; http://www.webb.net/sites/mac_home/mac4a.res.html#AMR There are 8 links on it that may be useful. 9.) http://www.genealogy-books.com/books/gpcrw.html If anyone has anything else to add, please let me know I've started a running list. Bye! Amy
