Most of the probate packages for this time period still exist. They are available on microfiche at the courthouse in Chambersburg. Sometimes they are too faded to be read, so a clerk will go to the basement and pull the original package for you. The ones I have found have very seldom been complete - there will be an inventory, but no sale bill or vice versa. I was working on my ancestor Daniel Reisher last week - the distribution of the estate doesn't match the terms of the will. The only way that I could account for this is papers missing from the probate package. I have not had much luck ordering by mail. Like most courthouses they are very busy, never seem to get around to answering letters. Maybe someone else has had better luck with this. Cost when you copy yourself from the microfiche is 50 cents per page.
