Anyone searching the libraries around Franklin County, Pa. please keep me in mind. I am searching for any information I can obtain on my gggrandfather Israel Mayberry. He was rumored to have been sighted on the 1840 Census of Franklin County, Pa. I have located him later on the 1850 Census of Hampshire County, Virginia living in the household of John and Sarah Cooper. He shows his occupation as a Carpenter and reflected his age as 58 years old. He is knowned for his ability to work near with various Iron works such as Forges, Bloomeries, and Furnaces. His parents were George Mayberry and Rebecca Pennybacker Mayberry dau of Dirck Pennybacker of Philadelphia, Pa. (Germantown). The Pennybackers were married into the De Haven's who were also known around that area as early settlers in Germantown, Pa. The Pennybacker family were Iron Masters too. George Mayberry and brother-in-law Benjamin Pennybacker were the builders and operators of the Columbia Furnace in Shenandoah County, Virginia in the late 1700's and early 1800's (1803 they built the Columbia Furnace). Anyone who has inforamtion on these names please contact me. Since Israel was in Franklin County in 1840 and later found in 1850 at Hampshire County, I figure he might have returned to that area sometime after 1850. He did not show on the 1860 Census as far as I can tell. Any help will be highly appreciated. I am Israel's gggrandson in Muskogee, Ok
