Hi List, I am still trying to connect my grandfather J. Sherman CARR (1868-1953) through James CARR (1841-1899) to Hugh CARR (1813- ? ). Does anyone have any info on these people? I also have a Charles H(ugh) CARR (1864- ? ) married to Emma UNKNOWN (1869- ? ); children John S. (1891 - ?), Katherine (1893- ? ) married KEEFER (1) and WALSH (2), Leroy (1896 -? ) married Geraldine....... My mother Ida Pearl CARR (1907-2000) used to visit the Charles CARR family in Chambersburg. She always called Katherine her cousin. I was wondering if Charles was a son to Hugh CARR. You email came in as I was getting ready to go to the historial society in Chambersburg today. I did a little looking for you and found the following: Ceder Hill Cemtery, Greencastle. Hugh Carr b. Nov. 19, 1813 d. Feb. 15, 1891 Sarah Carr, wife of Hugh D. Nov. 24, 1877 Obituary was in the People's Reg. newspaper,Feb. 20, 1891. Stated he was the father of 15 children, 7 surving: James, Mrs Daniel Walk, Mrs. Julia Palmer, Hugh H., Joseph W. Mrs. John Shields and David. Also a brother named George. Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg. Charles H. Carr1863--1945 wife Emma Minnich 1868-1940 John S Carr 1891-1980 Mary Foltz his wife 1894-1967 Roy M. 1895-1967 Mabel Burkhart his wife 1896-1976 On same lot was Charles W. Keefer and his wife Katherine Carr I have a copy of Charles Carr Obituary which I will scan and email to you. His parents are James F and Nancy Bella McCutcheon.
