    3. Hi! This is info I've picked up in research: "Historical Sketch of Franklin County" by I.H. McCauley, 1876 To paraphrase: p. 136 Township of Metal 1795 formed out of southern end of Fannettsburg. Earliest settlers were Campbell and others. Presbyterian church formed 1767 for whole valley. Disagreement on placement in valley; 2 churches were formed. Lower Path Valley Church located about 1 mile south of where Fannettsburg stands today. Upper Path Valley Church built where Spring Run is today. Rev. Amos McGinley was pastor to both churches 1802-1851. Churches of the Valley, FHS film #0897357 An historical sketch of the Old Presbyterian Congregations of Cumberland and Franklin Counties in Penn. by the Rev. Alfred Nevin of the Presbytery of Carlisle Philadelphia: Joseph M. Wilson 1852 p. 219 1773 Rev. David Denny was called to Upper & Lower Churches of Path Valley and served 1793 - 1800 when he moved on to Chambersburg. Rev. Amos A. McGinley was a native of Adams County and served 1802 to 1851. Hope this helps someone. GAil Barham
