Hi Carolyn and Fellow Listers: Well done Carolyn!!!!!! I beg to differ though, with Carolyn concerning the years that Death & Birth Registers were kept in Pennsylvania. Perry County and other counties within Pennsylvania - I also think Franklin County is included - registered both Births and Deaths during the years 1853-1855. After 1855 the State discontinued the register until it asked the counties to register them again in 1892 [about] and continued to 1906 when the state took the responsibility and sent all to New Castle. Some counties also continued to register Births and Deaths in their own county court house - Perry Co. continued to 1919.
