    3. Does anyone have any BUTTS in Franklin Co.???? I'm looking for the parents of my Elizabeth (J or A) BUTTS b. ca 1844. She married James H. Woodall sr. and they lived in Fulton Co. (Where the Woodalls are from) I have her parents names as William BUTTS and Sarah ? (can't really make out her maiden name off Elizabeth's death certificate.) 1. [PAFRANKL] BEVINS b. May 24, 1879
    2. My gr grandmother was born May 24, 1879 in Franklin Co., PA. She was adopted by David and Sarah A. Heigley of Cumberland Co., PA. Her surname was BEVINS at the time of birth. I'm unsure where her first and middle name, Hattie May, came from. It's very strange because the surname Bevins was kept Hattie May Bevins-Heigley. She gave the name Bevins as the middle name for her youngest daughter. Why if a baby was given up for adoption would a surname of the birth parent be kept and used....Can anyone give me any ideas....Would someone be willing to look up her birth record at Franklin Co....I belong to the Cumberland Co. Historical Society and would be happy to look something up in exchange for your work for me. Thanks....Susan

    2. Carol Thorpe
    3. I would be interested. My main three surnames in Path Valley are Baird, Smalley, and Moore. My line starts with William Baird in 1730, but it appears that a couple generations of Bairds preceded him in the Path Valley area and while I know his children and their spouses, I only know my direct line in detail. I would like to fill out the Baird family tree and also tie up some loose ends that end in Brown Co. Ohio. Where I know there is a relationship, but I don't know where. 1. [PAFRANKL] GARMAN Family
    2. Dick Burkard
    3. Is any researching the Garman family in Franklin County? I have a Daniel Garman b. June 28, 1801 in Lancaster County; m. Sophia Kissell abt. 1824 in Lancaster County. They had the following children all supposedly born in Franklin County: Maria, b. September 24, 1824; Fianah b. abt 1830; George W. b. January 19, 1831; John Jackson b. July 2, 1834; Susannah, b. November 21, 1837; and Daniel Rothrock b. September 18, 1840. The last two children were baptized in the St Thomas Evangelical Lutheran Church in St Thomas township (the printed record I consulted began after birth of John Jackson). In the 1850s the family moved to Indiana. Maria married John Riggle Jr. in Franklin County and Fianah probably married there also, but I have found no record of who she married nor when. With the exception of Fianah, I have considerable information on each of the other children which I will gladly share. I am particularly interested in finding both Daniel and Sophia's parents and siblings and information on Fianah. Dick Burkard San Antonio, Texas
