Sorry if some get this more than once. But I have lost a lot of mail sent to me in the past few weeks. If someone out there had sent me mail in regards to Campbell, would you please resend if you still have a copy. Many things have happened here lately including the loss of my mother who is a Campbell decendant. It really has hit hard, especially when one is trying to do geneology. With the loss of both parents now, i look at the pages of my book and they are now another generation there that are gone and a part of the past for our future generations to study. This has put a whole new look on things for me and has been a difficult time. So if you had sent mail in regards to Moms Family CAMPBELL let me know and perhaps we can get your questions/inquires worked out. Sorry this has taken some time to answer. Elaine Dearborn Heights, MI
Hi I am new to this list. I am sitting at work trying to fix a Y2K bug and I thought it would be a good time to make my first post. My great-grandfather was born in Franklin County in 1836. His name is William DeHart. Before 1860 he moved to Shelbyville, Indiana. In 1860 he came back to Cumberland County to marry Rebecca Jane Haas. My problem is in 1850 he was only 14, but was not living at home. Also he died in North Dakota in 1906 and did not have his death record at the state or county so I had not been able to identify his parents. There is one DeHart family in Franklin County during this timeframe and they have a William, but his date of birth is listed as 1828 on a family bible. Thank you and Happy New Year, Jeff DeHart Altadena, CA __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Talk to your friends online with Yahoo! Messenger. http://messenger.yahoo.com
Hi Fellow Listers, I am new to this list. I'm hoping someone can give me some leads on Thomas CRATTY, who immigrated from Ireland to Franklin County prior to the Revolution. He married Jane MCKINNEY, born in Chambersburg, Franklin County of Irish immigrant parents. I'm trying to find when and where in Ireland Thomas was born, when he died and where in Westmoreland County, PA, he's buried. I'd like to more about Jane's parents and their origins. I have quite a bit of family oral history about Thomas's son Robert CRATTY, who moved to Ohio, and his son David CRATTY; I'd be happy to share. Thank you, Annalee Lamoreaux

Hi Listers: Just got back from a visit at the Cumberland County Historical Society. I was searching through some turn of the century records of deaths at the Cumberland County Home [aka Poor House, Asylum, Hospital, etc.] and found the answer to my "own" question that I posted several months ago concerning: What is an S.A.B. when it pertains to a burial or was in the area on a death register for the place of burial? Well, while looking through the original death records, I found that many of the persons were simply listed as "S.A.B." or "S.A.B., Philadelphia" - this area was normally marked as who took the body and where it was buried. Later on, around 1913 it was written out as "Shipped as Anatomical Body to Philadelphia". I even found a Dr. A. LAWSON, Secretary of S.A.B., Philadelphia who examined one of the bodies before it was buried by the family. Now, another question: Was there a medical research laboratory or medical school in Philadelphia that would have need for so many bodies??? Hope this will help other researchers out there! Happy New Year to you and yours! Donna HELLER ZINN of Newville, Cumberland Co., PA.
Does anyone out there have access to a book by Elizabeth Brubaker Wolff called: "Early History and Genealogy of the Anderson - McCullough - McCune Families and Related Lines of Franklin County, PA" , n.d. circa 1953?
