    3. Donna, Sorry I can't help you with the address. Where might one find the 1936 tax list? (Note the clock on your PC seems to be set about 3 hours ahead based on the "sent" time of your email.) Regards, Jim Hoke Alexandria, VA Researching Hoch, Hoke, Hoffeditz, Stitzel, and Barmont ----- Original Message ----- From: Donna To: PAFRANKL-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Sunday, March 26, 2000 1:34 PM Subject: [PAFRANKL] Lincoln Way Cemetery Hello Fellow Listers: I have been trying to get the name and phone number of the caretaker of the Lincoln Cemetery just on the southern edge of Chambersburg along Rt.30. When a friend and I visited that cemetery last year, we found an old peice of paper which looked like it may have listed the caretaker but it was in bad shape [weather-worn] and we could not see everthing that was on it. We, just a few months ago, visited some of the other cemeteries and caretakers [of the cemetery and the records] and non have been able to provide us with a name or a contact person. I do not have a Franklin Co. phone book - Is the number in there??? We are looking for my friend, Barb RHINE SHARAR's great-grandmother, Sarah CHRIST RHINE SOWERS who presumably is buried in one of the cemeteries in Chambersburg. This is the only cemetery that we have not found records on yet - and so presume that she and her second husband, Charles SOWERS of Adams Co., PA. may be buried there. Her first husband was Robert RHINE and he is buried in the Lower Tuscarora Cemetery, Waterloo, Lack Twp., Juniata Co., PA.. The only thing that my friend is sure of is that Sarah died after the 1936 Tax List was taken when she and Charles were found residing in Chambersburg. Any help or hints appreciated.. Donna HELLER ZINN of Newville, Cumberland Co., PA.

    3. If there is anyone on the list who meanders through old cemeteries in Franklin County, specifically Montgomery Township, I would greatly appreciate your keeping an eye out for Morrisons. There is an Andrew Morrison, will probated Feb 17, l807 where no wife is mentioned which means she died before that time. I know he was in Franklin in 1783, so it is probable that his wife is buried there. That's who I'm interested in - the name of his wife. They also had a daughter Jean who died before 1804 though she was married to someone unknown. If it helps, their children were William, John and Robert sons and Elizabeth, Sarah, Margaret, Mary, Agnes and Jean daughters. Andrew is listed initially in Peters then Montgomery; I suspect he stayed in the same place since Montgomery was formed from part of the old Peters township. Thanks Josette Maxwell Boone NC

    1. [PAFRANKL] Request Help on my gggrandpa Israel MAYBERRY in Franklin Co., Pa @ 1830
    2. Frank Mayberry
    3. I have found that my gggrandpa was on the 1830 Census of Franklin Co., Pa. I am hoping some kind soul in that county would do me a lookup in that county. He was a Refiner of Iron and an excellent carpenter having recently finished helping his father (George Mayberry & Benjamin Pennybacker) build the Columbia Furnace/mill in the Shenandoah County/Valley of Virginia near Woodstock, Va now-a-days just off Interstate 81 at exit 278. Israel had married Catherine Haas of Hampshire County, Virginia (now WVa) on March 27, 1827. He and Catherine would have had a couple of children either living with them or living with their grandparents in Hampshire Co., Va. Mary was listed as age 21 on the 1850 Census of Hampshire County, Va. Thomas was listed as age 19, my ggrandpa was listed as age 13, and Sarah was 13. Probably only Mary would have been with the family as she would have been about one year old on the 1830 Census of Franklin Co., Pa. He (Israel) would have probably been associated with Richmond Furnace near Chambersburg, Franklin Co., Pa. Possibly another Forge, Mill or Furnace nearby in Franklin Co., Pa. I would appreciate any help in this search. The birth of his son (my ggrandpa Francis/Frank) was reflected on a later Census as being born in Maryland. I am pretty sure it was in Fredricktown, MD or possibly Myersville area in Frederick County, MD. Israel Mayberry served in the Maryland Militia @1812. Anyone reading this and have any knowledge about this surname please contact me at the above email address. I am searching for any information that I can assemble on this family, who were very well known up and down the Shenandoah's as Iron Refiners and Mill operators during that era of our History. They were some of the first families to be involved in the Iron production in our young and emerging nation in the era of the Continental Army, the Indian wars and the war of independence. All help will be appreciated. Thank, Frank R. Mayberry in Muskogee, Oklahoma
