    3. There are no Woodcox or Woodcocks in the Franklin County cemetery records 1784-1826, the 1790 Franklin census, Seilhammer's Biographical Annals, or McAuley's county history. In fact, I have never seen this name in Franklin County PA. Have you checked Franklin County VIRGINIA? The name is found there in the early records and the names are often confused. Here are the Franklin County VA marriages from Marriage Index: MD, NC, VA, 1624-1915 Woodcock, Catherine, Spouse : Radford, Geo, Marriage date : Oct 29, 1789 Woodcock, John, Spouse : Hawkins, Lucy, Marriage date : Aug 20, 1793 Woodcock, Mark, Spouse : Simmons, Susannah, Marriage date : Mar 5, 1803 Woodcock, Thomas, Spouse : Standifer, Mary, Marriage date : Jul 3, 1786 Woodcock, William, Spouse : Simmons, Rhoda, Marriage date : May 16, 1804

    1. [PAFRANKL] WEBB surname
    2. connie
    3. Hi! I am new to this list and am trying to find information on my ggrandmother's family. My ggrandmother was Rebecca WEBB b. Mar 1861 in PA. She married John CLINE and had 10 children. She and her husband were murdered in October of 1923 in Fiddlersburg, MD. I am just guessing she is from this county because she lived most of her married life just over the MD border. From her death certificate and a church records, I believe her parents names to be Christian and Katie WEBB both listed as born in PA. If anyone has any of these people in their databases or has access to Franklin Co. Censuses (1850-1880) to do a lookup, please let me know. Thanks for any assistance! Connie Cline Hixson, TN

    3. You may have to check Cumberland Co. Records as Mongomery Twp. was part of Peter Twp. in Cumberland Co. in the early years. Page 152 & 591 of History of Franklin Co. list as early land owners in Montgomery Co. Robert Culbertson, March 31, 1743. Neighbors: William Dinwiddy, Thomas Dinwiddy, James Gardner.

    3. Hi, all. I am hoping to find information about one of my GGGF, James Dinwiddie, said to have been b. ca.1768 in Franklin Co., PA. (?). If he was indeed born there, who were his parents? Who were his older forebears? Who were his siblings? He was married in 1811 in Franklin Co., TN. (?) to a lady whose name was Jane H. Givens. Their son, William Adam Dinwiddie, was born 12-16-1815 in Haywood Co., TN. I think it very odd that he would have been born in Franklin Co., PA., and then ended up in Franklin Co., TN. to be married. Is there, historically, any record in the files of you GENstudents out there of the Dinwiddie family having been in Frankllin Co., PA. in the mid-1700's?? If not, then the idea of his having moved from one Franklin Co. to another might be just erroneous notations by some over-zealous GENstudent of the past. It will be a great favor to me, if anyone can provide clarification on my James Dinwiddie. Thanks in advance for your help.
